Adventure
Beyond the Mountains
Regoral I thought humans were a myth. In my youth, I had believed the frightening stories my mother told me of murdering men who invaded our land, bringing death and destruction in their wake, but, when I came of age, I quickly gave up believing such stories. Surely, the human race was nothing more than a legend invented by mothers to frighten their young ones into obedience. That was what I thought, until the day I found Torin.

The Guardian of the Forest
The pearlescent fog thickened on the forest floor, smothering the delicate tapestry of moss, roots, and leaves. The pines reached into the sky, spearing the stars, and blanketing the night with their jagged branches and needles. Every creature in the forest was wreathed in fog and haloed in the moonlight as owls, deer, and hedgehogs went along their way hooting, galloping, and snuffling.

DRAGON
An angry summer storm flew in from the west just before midday. Arlo ignored the wrath of the storm as sheets of rain pelted down upon his brow. Instead, he watched, mouth agape, at the fat crying toddler that sat unaccompanied in the sprawling, vivid green forest.

The Forest of the Secret Keeper
The flying creature was chuckling to itself, amused with itself at the memories of the humans running away out of the forest. It would not suffer their presence long in their domain and was satisfied in its action as it took to the air to return to its lair. The creature's view of the world was overlaid with lines of Essana, the living energy of the world that suffuses all matter in varying degrees.

A Game of Tag
Teeth gnashed at the heels of a young Elias as he ran laughing through the forest. The ancient maw of the enormous reptile stalking after him did nothing to quiet the toddlers squeals of excitement. In the back of his mind he knew his mother must be frantically searching for him at the edge of the wood. It would never occur to her that he could be deep in the forest on such a grand adventure. Yet this small flicker of worry couldn’t pierce the crushing of twigs and laughter escaping Elias’s lungs at this new form of game. Vines sprung from the ground below, entangling his little legs and turning his waddle of a run into a tumble down a rather steep hill. Mud splattered his face as he fell, matting his curled, russet hair, and small cuts formed on his rosy cheeks as twigs scrapped against his face; yet the smile still held as he skidded to a stop.
