Adventure
THE LOST COLONY ADVENTURES of HIDEAWAY ISLAND
“Wait…no, don’t do that!” Seething, icy layers of dread sunk deeper into the pit of my stomach, plopping right next to my resolution. A lurching, retching motion swayed my insides, turning my head as I felt my stomach spin again—was it, no, it couldn’t be. Yesterday was bad enough, I had woken up in a smelly cesspit of a barge—a ship, a place I had only ever read about and trust me when I say—it wasn’t what dreams were made of—and this morning—same thing. I could taste the unwashed smells of a thousand men before I even opened my eyes.

Shadows of the Lithium
I roll on to my side as I hear what sounds like a door at the end of the hall being opened. I'd spent most of the night listening to a barrage of insults and invective that my guards had used to try to provoke me in to giving them a reason to use their spears on me. Occasionally they would search around the floor until they found a stone that they could throw at me. They never did manage to hit me thanks to my quick reflexes, but it was still annoying.

Shadows of the Lithium
It's been two-hundred years since that day in the woods. I managed to survive, hiding in the forests and mountains, trying not to be found. For a while I did try to blend in among the humans; I died my hair black with soot and posed as a blind beggar with a cloth tied around my eyes. My other senses are acute enough that I never had to actually worry about where I was going or who was around me, and it felt good to be among people again. At least for as long as it lasted. Eventually they always discovered my secret and I would be forced to flee for my life. Eventually, about fifteen years ago, I found a group of Lithilium being led by a man named Bloquan.
