"Stalked Through the Night"
''Two People on a First date Realize that a Stalker is Watching them''

Sophia and Daniel had met online and decided to take a chance on a first date at a quaint café downtown. It was a charming place with fairy lights twinkling in the evening, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
The conversation flowed effortlessly. They talked about their hobbies, their favorite books, and their dreams for the future. Sophia found herself genuinely enjoying Daniel’s company.
As the evening progressed, Sophia noticed a man outside the café standing across the street. He was dressed in a dark coat and a hat pulled low over his eyes. He seemed to be glancing in their direction, but every time Sophia looked up, he quickly looked away, disappearing into the crowd.
“Do you think that guy’s staring at us?” Sophia asked, trying to sound casual as she subtly pointed out the stranger to Daniel.
Daniel glanced outside and saw the man. “It’s probably nothing. People stare all the time.”
Sophia nodded, but she couldn’t shake the feeling of unease. The man’s presence felt too deliberate, too persistent. She tried to focus on the date, but the nagging sensation remained at the back of her mind.
As the evening wore on, Sophia and Daniel continued to chat, but every few minutes, Sophia noticed the man still lingering outside.
“This is going to sound strange,” Sophia said, her voice lowered, “but I think that man is following us. He’s been outside the café the whole time.”
Daniel’s brow furrowed as he glanced outside again. “You’re right. He does seem to be paying an awful lot of attention. Maybe we should go somewhere else, just to be safe.”
Sophia agreed, and they decided to leave the café. As they walked down the street toward a nearby park, they noticed the man trailing behind them, keeping a discreet distance but clearly following their movements.
“What should we do?” Sophia asked, her voice trembling slightly.
Daniel took her hand, trying to reassure her. “Let’s stay calm. We’ll head to a public place and call the police if he continues to follow us.”
They made their way to the park, hoping the crowd and the openness would make them less conspicuous. However, the man followed them into the park, maintaining his distance but never quite disappearing from view. The once romantic evening had turned into a nerve-wracking ordeal.
Sophia and Daniel found a bench in a well-lit area and sat down, trying to appear relaxed. Daniel’s phone was out, and he dialed the police, explaining the situation and providing a description of the man.
As they waited, Sophia clung to Daniel’s arm, trying to calm her racing heart. The man continued to lurk in the park, his presence unsettling but still just out of reach.
Minutes later, the sound of sirens cut through the quiet night, and a patrol car pulled up. The officers quickly spotted the man and approached him. After a brief conversation, they took him into custody.
Sophia and Daniel watched from a distance, feeling a mix of relief and lingering fear. The officers came over to them and took their statements, ensuring that the man had been apprehended without incident.
As the police drove away with the man, Sophia and Daniel exchanged a weary but grateful glance. The date had taken an unexpected and unsettling turn, but they were safe.
“What a night,” Sophia said, trying to smile despite the lingering tension.
Daniel squeezed her hand. “Yeah. But I’m glad we made it through. Maybe next time, we can just focus on enjoying ourselves.”
Sophia nodded, feeling a sense of camaraderie with Daniel. Despite the night’s events, she felt a strange sense of reassurance, knowing that she had someone she could rely on even in the most unexpected and frightening situations.
