Spellbound (Part 2)
A main event match sees a secret unveiled at the Canadian capital
Ottawa, Canada's national capital, was highly excited. Platinum Women's Wrestling's event, Power Trip, had arrived, and the main event was a big one. A four-on-four Elimination Match was set to take center stage. On one side: Maxine Daniels, Beatrice Baxter, Hannah Young, and the "Iron Maiden" Shannon Fox. Their opponents: the wicked Robichaux sisters--Céline, Juliette, Véronique, and Vivienne--sisters in sorcery. Maxine and Céline were the leaders in this rivalry, which had gone on for a decade and was the continuation of a feud involving their respective mothers from over two decades ago.
Both sides spent the two weeks that passed since the announcement preparing for this battle, but unbeknownst to many, a member of each camp had a shared secret. Beatrice and Vivienne, rivals against each other, were actually in a romantic relationship and had been for five months. They had kept their relationship a secret, and were waiting for the right time to go public, but that evening was all about the business at hand.
The entrances saw Maxine's team come out first, with Beatrice receiving massive pops due to the fact that Ottawa was her hometown, and she donned a Daniel Alfredsson jersey over her Ottawa Senators inspired gear. As the babyface squad huddled, the Robichaux sisters made their entrance. Céline's gear included a cape, Juliette donned a choker necklace as an accessory, and only the twins--Véronique and Vivienne--matched, but the colors were the same: black and green with a fleur-de-lis representing their native province of Quebec.
The bell rang, and the two captains--Maxine and Céline were in the ring. It looked like it would be the leaders starting it off, but Céline merely smiled wickedly and tagged in Juliette, ordering her to take care of Maxine. Both women fought strongly, with Juliette being taken down by Maxine, who tagged in the "Iron Maiden." Shannon and Juliette threw down in violent fashion, and the first pin attempt went to Juliette on Shannon, but Shannon countered with a pin attempt of her own, and it was successful. Juliette was eliminated, and Team Maxine had the 4-on-3 advantage. Juliette was gone, but in actuality, she used her cloaking powers to make herself invisible. Just as Shannon was about to go after the entering Céline, Shannon was lifted up and thrown down on the ring by an invisible force, which was quickly revealed to be Juliette, who smiled wickedly at Shannon.
Juliette was ordered to leave, as she was eliminated, but her interference allowed Céline to pick up the scraps and eliminate Shannon, making it 3-on-3. Just as Maxine was about to enter, she surveyed the crowd and pointed towards the hometown hero, Beatrice. The loud eruption led to Beatrice being sent in to face the coven's wicked leader, with Beatrice holding her own before Céline took over. Céline decided to tag in Vivienne, who used her mind control powers to order Beatrice to rise. In response, Beatrice speared Vivienne through the ring ropes, and the pair fought in heated fashion outside the ring. The fight continued on to the point where they didn't pay attention to the referee making the ten-count, which reached the maximum 10 seconds, resulting in a double countout elimination.
Beatrice and Vivienne were both eliminated, and they stared each other down with the possibility that they weren't done fighting. Instead, with the fans at the sold out Canadian Tire Centre in attendance watching, Beatrice and Vivienne suddenly engaged in a very passionate make out session. The crowd reacted in shock and awe, but the most shocked out of all of them: the four remaining women in the ring: Maxine, Hannah, Céline, and Véronique.
"Vivi!" Véronique exclaimed as her twin walked away with Beatrice, holding hands while doing so. Céline gave a calculated look, Maxine was trying to drink it in, but Hannah was in the ring for the first time, rolling up Véronique for a two-count. The pair fought hard, though Véronique attempted to use her telekinetic powers against Hannah, sending her bouncing from one set of ring ropes to the other. Hannah attempted to tag out to Maxine, only for Céline to use her powers to send Maxine off the apron. Véronique tagged in her big sister, who decided to use a sleeper hold on Hannah, who submitted.
A dazed Maxine crawled into the ring, now standing alone against two Robichaux sisters. With the numbers in their favor, Céline taunts Maxine and fights toe-to-toe with her longtime rival, after which Céline tags in Véronique. This went on for a good bit, even with Maxine getting some offense in, the sisters made frequent tags to toy with Maxine, but the taunts from Céline continued where she was in the ring or on the apron watching Véronique.
"Give up, Maxine!" shouted Céline. "You're outmatched and outnumbered! Make it easy on yourself!" Maxine refused to back down against the two remaining sisters, and delivered a valiant fight against Véronique. Céline attempted to interfere, only for Maxine to superkick her foe off the apron, and later deliver a spinebuster to Véronique, and three seconds later, it was down to just Maxine and Céline.
"Come on, Céline!" shouted Maxine. "It's just you and me!" Céline entered the ring and the two came to blows, a decade's worth of frustration shown in a series of rights and lefts delivered towards each other. It was a matter of time before a finisher attempt would be delivered, and with Céline finally down, Maxine went for her "Air Raid Moonsault," but Céline used her powers to stop her mid-air, finally removing her hold and sending Maxine landing face first on the mat.
"It's over, Daniels!" cackled Céline. "Now you'll know... never cross a Robichaux!" Céline was about to deliver Black Magic DDT, only for Maxine to counter with a suplex, and finally climb the top rope and deliver her Air Raid Moonsault. Three seconds later, Maxine was the last woman standing, picking up the win for her team, with Hannah, Beatrice, and Shannon all returning to celebrate with Maxine.
A few days passed following the main event match, and Maxine and her squad were at Denise's gym, still being congratulated by Maxine's mother, wrestling legend Denise Daniels herself. Their celebration was interrupted the sudden appearance of the Robichaux coven, not only the four sisters, but also their mother, La Reine Sorcière herself, Geneviève Robichaux, who flashed her sinister smirk--an expression Denise knew all too well.
"What brings you here, Reine?" asked Denise.
"Denise, Denise, Denise," Geneviève said coyly. "Can't I just bring my girls to visit my old rival?"
"Besides," said Céline, "we have some questions for a certain someone." As Vivienne approached Beatrice, the remaining three sisters surrounded the very woman who had captured their sister's heart so many months ago. "How long has this been going on?" Céline asked sternly.
"Grande soeur...," Vivienne began, but Céline cut her off.
"How long?" asked Céline.
"It's OK, Vivi," Beatrice said, causing an eyebrow raise from Céline. "We've been dating for five months, going on six." Céline looked intensely at Beatrice, as did Juliette and Véronique, and they also looked at Vivienne standing with her.
"I knew there was some reason why our little Vivi was beaming for months," said Céline. "It's clear that you make her so happy. Keep it up. Keep putting that smile on our baby sister's face, or else." Céline smirked, but there was a hint of playfulness in that expression, a sign that she approved of their relationship.
"I come out just three minutes after Ronnie," said Vivienne jokingly, "and all of a sudden, I'm the baby." Vivienne kisses Beatrice, all the while, the other three sisters approach the rest of the crew.
"Is that all you're here for?" asked Maxine. "Just to give your thoughts on Vivienne and Beatrice's beautiful romance?"
"Oh, that's definitely not all, mon amie," Céline said coyly. "You got the win on us, congratulations. I know how tough and bad-ass you are. You're clearly your mother's daughter."
"Same to you," Maxine said, meaning it in a respectful manner.
"Our mothers started this battle, and we'll continue this dance," said Céline. "I relish it, Maxine, and I know you do, too."
"As always," said Maxine, "I'll be ready for whatever you dish out."
It was a surreal scene. Juliette and Shannon playing around in a makeshift ring in the gym. Vivienne and Beatrice basking in their romance. Véronique and Hannah working out together, and Maxine and Céline as strong leaders, showing mutual respect for each other. The scene was taken in by Denise and Geneviève, who joined Maxine and Céline and sat with them.
"Our girls really have picked up where we left off, haven't they?" said Denise.
"They certainly have, mon amie," replied Geneviève. "And we are so proud of them."
