Spellbound (Part 1)
A group of women prepare to face off against a wicked coven inside the squared circle
Canada has seen it all from the world of professional wrestling. Top stars, legendary champions, even a screwjob or two. When it comes to the promotion known a Platinum Women's Wrestling, they would deliver something that would amaze even the most hardcore of wrestling fans.
The city: Winnipeg, Manitoba. A packed crowd cheered as Maxine Daniels, one of PWW's most popular wrestlers, made her entrances. Hailing from Hamilton, Ontario, Maxine had competed for a decade and held PWW's World Championship four times, but what she had been involved in for the last six months was bigger than titles.
Enter Maxine's rival, Céline Robichaux. Hailing from Sherbrooke, Quebec, Céline is one of the most fiendish heels in the Canadian women's wrestling scene. Her wrestling prowess is known, but what's also known is her penchant for sorcery. In the case of Céline, it's not a wrestling gimmick; she is an actual sorceress, and she and Maxine had been at odds for their entire wrestling careers. Wherever Maxine competed, no matter the promotion, there was Céline plaguing her.
As the pair tied up and competed, the heat between them was definitely mentioned and replayed in each of their minds. The heated exchange revealed that this was a family feud between the two, as Maxine Daniels' mother, Denise Daniels, battled against Céline's mother, the notorious Reine Sorcière de Sherbrooke (Witch Queen of Sherbrooke), Geneviève Robichaux, for several years in the women's wrestling circuit. The battle between the current rivals was back-and-forth, but suddenly, Céline's wicked smile form as out came three familiar faces.
As familiar as they were to Maxine, they were very well known to Céline--they were her equally wicked sisters. Surrounding the ring were Juliette Robichaux--the second born the sisters at age 28, and twins Véronique and Vivienne Robichaux (both aged 25). The sisters' appearance didn't deter Maxine, who was about to deliver her "Air Raid Moonsault" finisher, only for the trio to use their powers to get Céline out of the way. The trio invaded the ring and attacked Maxine, resulting in the match being thrown out, but the Robichaux sisters were not done. The trio held Maxine at bay, while Céline was set on displaying her power towards her longtime foe.
"I told you so many times, Daniels, you can't get away from me!" Céline exclaimed. "No matter where you go, no matter what the circumstance, I'll be right there to curse you!" Just as Céline was getting ready to deliver a powerful blow, out came reinforcements for Maxine, in the form of Beatrice Baxter, Hannah Young, and the "Iron Maiden" Shannon Fox. All three fight with Céline's sisters, while Maxine fought with the eldest Robichaux sister. The eight-woman brawl drew loud cheers from the crowd in Winnipeg, but they were all interrupted by a familiar voice:
"Enough!"
The two sides saw PWW's General Manager, Grace Rose, a retired 30-wrestling veteran, make her presence felt and survey the situation. "The way I see it," Grace said, "we have two teams who really want to fight it out and put an end to this longtime rivalry. How about this? In two weeks, PWW's big event, Power Trip. In the main event, the Robichaux sisters against Beatrice Baxter, Hannah Young, the "Iron Maiden" Shannon Fox, and Maxine Daniels, in a four-on-four Elimination Match!"
The crowd erupted over the announcement; all the while, Maxine and Céline, now captains in this upcoming match, stared each other down. They were definitely ready for this battle.
With a week left before Power Trip, the game plan began. Maxine, Beatrice, Shannon, and Hannah met at Denise's gym, and the topic centered on the Robichaux coven. "We have a week to plan for the sisters," said Maxine. "They are not only powerful, they're unhinged. We need to divide and conquer."
Maxine turned to face Shannon, who had a determined look in her eyes. "Foxy," said Maxine, "Juliette's all yours."
"Aye aye, Captain," the Regina-born Shannon said with excitement. "I can't wait to take her down!"
Maxine turned her attention to Beatrice and Hannah, noticing that Beatrice's mind appeared to be elsewhere. "Bea," said Maxine, "everything OK?"
"I'm good, Max," Beatrice said. "I'm just processing that I'm going to be part of this big match in my hometown of Ottawa."
"I definitely understand that, Bea," replied Maxine. "And I definitely trust that you and Hannah will handle the twins."
"You got it, Max!" Hannah, born and raised in Cole Harbour, exclaimed.
"As for Céline," said Maxine, "she's all mine."
"Be careful with her."
The girls turned around and saw the gym's owner, Denise Daniels herself, brandishing a warm smile but still showing a tough demeanor as she approached her daughter and her squad. "Robichaux girls causing trouble still?" asked Denise.
"As usual," answered Maxine. "But we'll handle them."
"I know you will, sweetie," said Denise. "I still remember my battles with Geneviève Robichaux, and from what I've seen, those girls are definitely their mother's daughters... especially Céline. I've seen you girls as well, and I know that you'll show out in grand fashion."
"Thanks, Mom," Maxine said as she hugged Denise.
Team Maxine wasn't the only one planning, as the Robichaux household saw Céline holding court, pacing like a general devising a war tactic. "Maxine and her little friends want to stand against us?" Céline snapped. "We'll take care her squad easily." A flash went off following Céline's declaration, and the girls turned around and saw their mother, La Reine Sorcière herself, Geneviève Robichaux, standing across from them.
"Mes filles," Geneviève smirked. "Are you ready for battle?"
"Oui, Maman," answered Céline, "we are prepared."
"I'll take care of Miss 'Iron Maiden'," Juliette said in a mocking tone. "We'll see if she can handle my cloaking powers, but we all know she can't."
"Excellent," Céline said with a sinister smile before turning to the twins. "Véronique, Vivienne, you handle those little girls Beatrice and Hannah. Show them what happens when they go up against powerful women."
"With pleasure, grande soeur," said Véronique, who turned to her twin sister, who was a bit distracted. "Vivi? You good?"
"I'm good, Ronnie," said Vivienne. "Just looking forward to us using our powers of mind control on Beatrice and Hannah."
"Perfect," Céline said, rubbing her hands in wicked fashion. "And little Miss Maxine is mine! She'll learn that crossing a Robichaux is very dangerous!" Geneviève couldn't help but smirk as her eldest daughter turned to her. "And Maman, I promise to avenge you. Maxine has that foolish pride just like her mother, and it'll be her downfall."
"My sweet Céline," said Geneviève. "You really have my fire, don't you? But you have to remember, you can't focus on revenge. Maxine is every bit as strong and every bit as forceful as Denise is, but I know you girls--mes filles--will stand tall."
A day after the war rooms gathered, Beatrice had finished training and was on her way out of the gym. As she walked, Beatrice felt something come over her, and suddenly heard a sultry voice whispering from inside her mind.
"Beatrice... come to me."
Beatrice was suddenly in a trance for a brief bit, though she tried to fight it.
"You can't resist me, Beatrice."
Beatrice heard a sinister chuckle, and ironically, that woke her up from the trance, because she knew who it was.
"Vivienne," Beatrice said as she turned around to see Vivienne Robichaux standing across from her, flashing an evil smile on her face. Beatrice went after Vivienne, who suddenly disappeared.
"Catch me if you can!" Vivienne cackled as Beatrice pursued her. The chase saw Vivienne appear than disappear to tease Beatrice, who heard Vivienne's cackles and taunts from close by. After reaching a park, Beatrice turned on her analytical thinking skills and paced slowly, waiting for the right time to strike. With careful precision, Beatrice delivered a spear at what appeared to be air, but in actuality...
"Hey, Vivi," teased Beatrice.
"Only family gets to call me that!" snarled Vivienne.
"Really?" Beatrice asked, still in a teasing mode. "And what am I, dear Vivi?" Vivienne's glare softened very quickly, and that led to Vivienne grabbing Beatrice and suddenly kissing her passionately. Both women giggled during their romantic embrace; a giggle that was symbolic of the fact that the pair was sharing a very beautiful secret together.
"I can't believe this is happening," laughed Vivienne.
"Can't believe what?" asked Beatrice. "The upcoming match, or the fact that we've been dating for five months now?" Beatrice picked up Vivienne, whose smile remained as she looked at her girlfriend. "Maxine will freak over this," Beatrice continued, "she'll probably say you put a love spell on me."
"Love spells are Céline's thing," Vivienne said semi-jokingly. "And she has enough power to obliterate me if she ever found out about this relationship." At that moment, Vivienne beamed, as if she was receiving a signal.
"Is it Céline?" asked Beatrice.
"No, it's Ronnie," answered Vivienne. "I have to go, but... until next week, mon amour."
Vivienne disappeared, leaving Beatrice on her way. Even so, the two of them were rivals, on opposing teams in a big match coming up in a week's time. Yet they were also in a relationship that was a secret between them, with no idea how their respective captains would react if it ever came to light. The countdown to Power Trip became more and more intriguing.
