Snowflake

Never underestimate what makes up strength.

Yes, Snowflake is my name and I’m proud of it. It’s a name that describes my pure white crystalline color. When people think of me, they think of my intricate design and the way I gently float from the clouds above. Did you know that none of my kind are exactly alike? We are billions, and every one of us is unique. Unlike humans, we will never have a twin. I’m also delicate. It only takes a ripple of air or a puff of your breath to send me soaring away. Maybe it’s because of my unassuming countenance that you find it so easy to defame me.

If you find one of your kind to be less of a bully, less obnoxious about forcing their beliefs on others, and open to being kind to people, you call them a snowflake. Labeling them as one of us defines them as being weak, undeserving, and inferior in every way. By defaming me, a delicate entity, does it strengthen you?

Take some of what little time you have left to consider this. It was snowflakes that caused you to fall and break your spine. Now all you can do is lay out here in the woods and watch us drift gracefully from above. We are joining forces and have begun slowly covering you in a blanket of white. As individuals, we are meek, but together we are mighty. You will understand our power as we entomb your body in snowflakes.

A powerful message, and a great story to tell it! I have been recommended you by Donna (also in comments), as I am new to this and attempting to get my name out via some of the challenges that are live currently. If you get the time to check out any of my pieces I would greatly appreciate it, and am very welcome to constructive criticism!

Love the deeper meaning to this. And yes, snow can be unforgiving. When I lived in Colorado, it snowed 5ft in 36 hours. Needless to say it had the whole place on lockdown, lol.

Hi Mark - Being from So. Cal. I've never-ever experienced White snow; it often turns 'Yellow' by the time it reaches us. I'm Crystal-Clear now - Thanks, Mr. SnowFlake J-bud

  • I'm so proud now to be called a snowflake! I lived vicariously through your story! Keeping my fingers crossed for this to place in the challenge!

Wow, such a bitter, little snowflake! Great minds, Mark. I considered a snowflake's journey to the ground for this one too. But my snowflake was nice...lol
