It was dreary night in October with the wind howling at the closed doors and it was about to rain. No, it was November...no wait it was September, yes because it was the same week I received a raise. Yes, anyways it was a dreary night in September with the wind howling at the closed doors and the air felt heavy and the air fresh almost like it was about to rain. Stewart came home and he set his leather work bag on the floor. Wait...was it the floor? No, he set it down on a chair and took out his unfinished lunch from earlier today and he sat down at the dining room table, and he ate it in silence.

No, sorry that's wrong the television was on in the background with his favorite television show, Game of Thrones. He barely looked at the screen as he was eating, he was only watching it as background noise. Stewart was used to having his roommate Nick around. That's not his name. Not Nick it was something similar like Nick...I remember now it was Neil.

Neil was always talking about something, but he moved out because he never had his own place and he could finally afford it, Neil was an actor, and he got a full-time career on All My Children as Bryce. Stewart used to run lines with Neil all the time. Hold on, it was not All My Children it was another soap opera what was it? The Bold and the Beautiful.

Stewart missed having him around they used to play indoor basketball all the time, or they would be playing on their foosball table from when they needed a new dining room table; and just bought one of those instead and eat at the counter or by the Barcaloungers. Anyways, around this time they would watch The Bachelor together at first when Neil moved in, he introduced Stewart to the show or, no it was the other way around Stewart introduced Neil to it.

At first, he was not invested in the drama or the reality tv, but then the women were hot, and Neil could not seem to get over the drama that happened on the show and actually pitched a few ideas to the writers for General Hospital, I mean The Bold and The Beautiful and they did a few episodes of his suggestions. Then, Stewart and his roommate got into a big fight about who cleans more often and who should be taking out the garbage. Stewart said that he was feeling like all the chores were his responsibilities cleaning up after Neil and himself. Neil recoiled and said that he cleans the bathroom every time, even if it is Stewart's towel on the floor or his shaving cream left in the sink. Then, Neil found his own place and decorated it with stuff he found in the antique store or was it thrift? maybe it was both? Anyways and now, Stewart missed his best friend Neil, yes, they would see each other now and then, but not as often as he would have preferred. They don't play foosball nearly as often, watching the Bachelor got boring without Neil telling a story from his set of the Soap Opera. It was not the same, their relationship altered. Then, there was knock on the door. Again, nope it was buzzer.

"Hello?" asked Stewart as he pressed the button.

"Hi, it's me," answered the familiar voice of Neil.

"Come on up," he said, and he buzzed him in.

Neil appeared at the door completely drenched from the rain, as it had been thundering all afternoon and he held a box in his hands.

"Hey, can I move in with you again? I just got kicked out of my apartment, the landlord wants it back," he told him.

Stewart smiled back at his friend and took the box from him, no questions asked.
