Romeo and Juliet

He wanted her. He deserved to have her. He had money, a job, a house, a car, and took four foreign holidays a year. He was every woman's dream; he knew how good he was.

He chatted with her at work, helped her when she needed it, and she became flattered that such an important person in the company was paying her attention.

This eventually became a work friendship, which was the start of his plan. When she went home, she thought about him a lot and wondered if he would maybe ask her out. She could not contemplate asking him, but she could dream.

Then it happened, it was only tiney, but he asked her for a coffee in the canteen that afternoon. They were in public and at work, so she was looking forward to spending some time with him.

The coffeee meet whent well, and they made small talk. He let it slip that he loved holidays in the Mediterranean and Caribbean, but always went alone, and always had a wonderful time. She didn't know how to take that, but they both smiled and laughed a lot.

Before they went back to their work, he asked her if she would like to go for a drink after work, and she responded with an enthusiastic "Yes."

The drink led to a meal and dates; she was going to be his, she only had eyes for him, and he could not believe that he felt the same for her too. She loved his house and car, and he loved her, and then he gave her an engagement ring, which she accepted.

"You should have asked my dad first"

She said, then he realised, although he had stayed in her house, he had never met her parents, he hadn't even asked about them, he had been so focused on her.

She then said

"Before we get married, you have to meet my parents. They have this huge mansion in Worcestershire, I think you will be very impressed. We could actually have the wedding there, it has 28 bedrooms, so plenty of room for guests"

"That sounds amazing. Why have you not mentioned them before?"

"You never asked"

"I should have done, I'm sorry, I was just so into you"

"I'll call them, and we can go down the weekend after next and stay with them. You can explore the place and the woods and gardens, and get to know my mother and father, and they can get to know you too."

"That sounds great, looking forward to it all"

The weekend came, and they packed a weekend's clothes and toiletries and drove off to her parents' mansion. When they got there, he was mightily impressed; it was miles from the nearest neighbour, and this would be a weekend for a lot of exploration. He didn't know he was marrying into a lot more money than he had.

He was in love and was going to be as rich as Croesus.

They had dinner and got on famously. Tomorrow, he was going to be shown the secrets of the estate. He could not wait.

Her parents were very religious, though he wasn't sure what religion, so they slept in separate rooms. He was very tired, so he dropped off quickly.

He awoke and screamed

"Scream all you want, young man, it's music to our ears. No one can hear you, and we are going to have such fun, dismembering and flaying you. As you can see from the rotting carcasses hanging on the meat hooks on the wall, we had no toys left to play with"

He saw his girlfriend, her father and mother, with knives and hooks, grinning maniacally at his tied down body. He knew he must have been drugged at dinner, then they must have brought him down into the cellar and strapped him to this metal table.

These were the secrets that they were going to show him.

He screamed again, and they laughed like hyenas as the knives and hooks plunged into his flesh.
