A Story

Rhoda grew the best roses in the city. People from all over came to look at her roses, which she had won prizes for. They were the most beautiful roses anyone had ever seen.

Everyone wanted to know her secret, but Rhoda refused to share. All she would tell them was that it was a recipe passed down from generation to generation in her family. As such, she couldn’t share it with anyone but her children if she had any one day.

Rhoda went out every night, looking for a derelict without ties to this world. Once she had found one, she smuggled them to her home, where she fed them a big dinner. Once they had eaten, they would undoubtedly fall asleep due to the sleeping powder she put in their tea. Once they were asleep, she would take them out to her garden, and set them beside the rose she wanted to feed that day. The rose would do the rest.

Pulling itself from the ground, the rose would latch on to the derelict, and start munching, bones and all. Eating all, leaving nothing behind. Not even a piece of jewelry. Then the rose would return to it’s spot in the dirt as if nothing had even happened.

For these roses were special roses that Rhoda had brought with her from her home world. From a galaxy far away.

Oooo, I love those roses! I would like to feed a few people to them hehehehehe!!

  • Lol, it's a different take but otherwise much like the Carniverous Plantosis story I told to a bunch of music students sitting around our living room back in the fall of 1980. It went on for hours, beginning before midnight & only ending once the sun had risen. And we had to drive three hours back to school yet.
