Red Widow

An "Epic Beginnings" Challenge Entry

Red Widow used to be just a regular woman. She had hopes and dreams that involved her husband with a house and a white picket fence. They would have a family together. But then, her dreams were shattered the day there was a gas leak on their block.

It was a miracle that Red Widow hadn't died the same day her husband and 8 week old baby did. Well, everyone thought that she had died - but instead, here she was... forever changed by the fire that flowed through her veins in anger. Her anger was only fueled by the knowledge that the gas company knew of the leaking pipes and choose to do nothing.

Red Widow's goal now was simple: hunt each guilty person down and make them experience the same flaming death that her loved ones (and so many others) had gone through.

Red Widow's already toned body that had bounced back from her pregnancy looked good with the red glow from the flames emanating from her skin. Her red hair matched the rest of her appearance and she chuckled, darkly as she envisioned a red cape to go along with her black, fireproof dress. Her eyes had been another huge change: they used to be green, but now they were black as coal.

The only weakness Red Widow had faced so far on her journey to destroy the people who prioritized profits over the lives of her families were the ones who had a family waiting for them at home too as no one could hold her or stop her - her fire was too strong! She silenced her feelings of sympathy towards them though.

Red Widow was sure that she should not be the only one having to grieve so deeply.
