Raybull...

In Bull Form

Fiery emotions and raging words… the last things you would want in your life but sometimes, life gives you no choice.

It’s amazing how one moment you can be sat in peace and tranquility and in the tick of a second, the storms of people come blastfully so around you, sweeping you off your feet in a not so delightful way.

I’m shattered,,, completely and utterly shattered. The will for me to hide from the world has brought me to my peace for now but it is sure to be short lived because He’s lurking…. Waiting within the depths of the shadows to pounce at his very will.... And he is after me.

It was about a year ago I met him, never had I seen a person so unique as he.. Raybull his name was but people called him The Bull for short, which seemed very fitting for he was surely big and strong as an OX is.

It was at a party in late December we both met and as I was approaching my late teens I thought it was about time I started to think about my future relationships, so I was eager to meet new people, to see who could catch my eye. Of course Raybull was a man who stood out from the crowd. He seemed to be the one who kept the entertainment flowing in the room, as if no matter who was in his presence, he uplifted their spirit and the night remained amazing throughout. The very first sight of me and he was swift to engage me into his flow.

Many more happy evenings followed that night between me and Raybull, no word of a lie, the feelings were so raw and intense, it was as though it was changing my being from the very core. Little did I know that is exactly what it was doing. The intensity grew and grew until it was more than just raw passion, Raybull was on another scale compared to most men and never in my life would I ever have expected to be with such a man. Yes he was socially loved and he was to outsiders a great role model, but behind the door of our home, away from the eyes of the public onlookers, he was even more suited to the name Raybull - The Bull than anyone would ever realise. For he rages around the house smashing things up with complete disregard, “like a bull in a china shop” is my favourite term for it.. No soon as he sees the colour red.. In other words. When he gets angry.

It was as if his very actions were imprinting into my core because after a while, no soon as he started to get angry I would react with the same savagery as he would give out, only one day during the midst of his rage, his physical appearance started to alter. It's as though when I was looking at him I was no longer looking at Raybull. I was looking at an actual bull in human form who stank of bad attitude. His Raging words were no longer making any sense; they just sounded like the wails of a charging bull, echoing throughout the house and I just could not take any more. I snapped and did the most awful thing that I was capable of doing. I just don’t know what came over me ….

One second he was standing in front of me in his dominating presence, slamming me with the vilest of words that you would never even know were a part of the human language if they were not spoken to you.. In the next moment he was in the fetal position on the floor, his head was a bloody mess and the walls and floor were the same to say the least. I panicked because I was so unaware of the moments that had just passed and was in a state of confusion when I looked down and saw our biggest cast iron frying pan in my right hand, still being tightly gripped by my blood stained self. What on earth had just happened?

Eager for an explanation I scanned the room further, doing all in my power to avoid the sight of the now deceased Raybull on the floor. The amount of blood was extreme without a doubt. The ceiling, the floors, the walls … ME... all of us covered. I walked over to the mirror to see what kind of monster I had become and to my horror, looking back at me was HIM!

Raging eyes of Fire, The Deepest colour of black to ever exist for an unmistakable body - That of a Bull… A quick, sudden flashback reminded me that it was the very Bull I saw appearing within Raybull moments before the forgotten happenings.

The Bulls face twisted and started to scream, looking down at his hooves at first, he then drew them to his snout of a mouth and shouted at me through the mirror in the most horrific, unearthly tone that will haunt me for the rest of my life…..

“What have you done Annabella….. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!!”

He lunged forward at me and without hesitation, I dropped the frying pan and I ran out of my house… never looking back. I ran.. and I ran.. and I ran. By the time I stopped running I was literally in the wilderness.. Alone in the unknown, but bizarrely, unlike any other time I was alone, it didn't phase me. I was able to scream out the pain that was creeping up from my very core without being questioned about the cause behind it. The scream filled the air and it bounced straight back to me in the sound of a piercing, high pitched screech. The echo of an unrecognised soul.

I couldn’t go back.. How was I going to explain to people that I did not know what had occurred in my very presence and the fact that it involved me personally?? After an hour or so of trying to piece it all together, I was in total despair. ‘Me… Annanbella, The Frying Pan Killer of East Lindsey!!’ I CRIED AND CRIED as I could already imagine the headlines that would be tomorrow's news. I looked back in the direction of which I had just come and with deep remorse and so much regret, I turned around and walked the opposite way leaving all that I knew and all that I had behind. I decided to try my best to wipe my life's existence from my memory. Looking back now, I was so traumatised and so it wasn’t hard.

I walked until I found a river I could freshen up in. Well that was my intention anyway but I literally did not even bother to get undressed, I walked straight into the river and lay back. Floating in the water my aim was to lift the weight off my soul if only for a second and strangely enough the water felt like it was hugging me and the ripples of the waves were whispering in my ear that everything was going to be alright, calming and soothing me for I had nowhere to go but here.

As I was lying there in complete and utter silence I was feeling at the most peaceful state of existence I had ever felt. I didn’t notice that it had gone dark until darkness was already upon me and that was when I heard it. The break of silence in the form of a twig snapping and that meant something was near. I swiftly exited the water trying to be as quiet as possible so as not to give away my presence and I became overwhelmed by a smell that seemed of a familiar odour. I don't know why but I recognised the smell.

“Annabella…..”

In my mind I knew that could only be one person because who on earth knows that I could be here. He must have followed me and it hit me that the smell was that of his bad attitude.

On the one hand I was relieved because he was still alive and I was able to lift the weight of me being a murderer off my head but on the other hand, he followed me for a reason and so he must be coming to get me back for what I had done to him. He was a person who would always get his revenge and so I was in fear that he was going to take my life. This would have been the perfect location for a murder after all.

I could hear him charging around the bushes frantically looking for me and calling out my name. The stench was getting closer and I was not sure what to do so I peeped over the top of a big rock I was hiding behind to see if I could make note of his actual location.

The sight of Raybull sent a chill down my spine for he was not Raybull - The Bull, as I knew him but he was The Bull - Raybull, as I didn’t want to know him. Instant regret swept over me as soon as his fiery red eyes locked onto mine as I was frozen on the spot with fear and my brain was not capable of switching on the Run Signal. We stood there staring at each other for a brief moment and I remember the Evil that glared back at me. I could see the hate and resentment within his smirk and like the Raging Bull that he was, He charged at me… one hoof after the other pounding the floor, creating a mini earthquake it seemed with each stride. I turned to run but as I was unaware of my surroundings, I slipped and fell into the river hitting my head on a rock which literally almost knocked me out. I dragged myself to the edge and as I looked up I could see Raybull still charging and wailing at me but there was nothing I could do, I was tired and weak and regardless of when this happens, this time will come so I thought, I might as well admit defeat. Absolutely terrified but at the same time not even having the strength to care any more.. I closed my eyes and lay there waiting for my life to end not knowing what comes next but what will be will be. At least Raybull is still alive at the very least was my last thought.

“Well There is no way Miss Legend that Raybull could possibly have been chasing you down by the River because Raybull was discovered deceased within the property you two share together and we are going to have to read you your rights and ask you that you do not say anything further until we have taken you to the police station for further questions. Anything that you do say from now on will be used as evidence and you will be held accountable for everything that you say. There will be a police officer present with you at all times until you are discharged and after which you will be coming directly to East Lindsey Police Department for further investigation. I’m just going to have to put these handcuffs on you. Please comply gracefully as we do not want another event such as that down by the river with the rescue team.”

I was in total disbelief as I knew I saw Raybull down by the river. Yes he was a BULL but that was how I saw him last time so I know it was him. What does he mean about another event such as that down by the river?? I gazed over at the door and HE was there looking at me .. Big Fiery eyes. Why couldn't anyone else see him?
