For Nadine Warren, her long ordeal was over. It was supposed to be a happy time for Nadine. She and her husband, Josh Foster, moved into an elegant home--somewhat old-fashioned look, but elegant. The move was part of the couple celebrating a year of wedded bliss, and they were very much in love, acting like the newlyweds they were.

And then, a grim ending.

Within a month of moving into the new house, Nadine was suddenly a widow. She screamed as she saw Josh's body; his throat slashed. Nadine quickly called the police, but withing moments, Nadine became suspect #1. She knew this, though. The spouse is always the main suspect. The knife was taken as evidence, as it still had Josh's blood on it. Nadine co-operated fully, even as she faced immense suspicion. However, a funny thing happened. The prints on the weapon were female, but they weren't Nadine's. Rather, they belonged to a woman named Josette LeClair.

Pretty cut and dry, right? It would be, except for one thing: Josette LeClair had been deceased for 30 years.

The police couldn't be chasing a literal ghost, so Nadine was removed as a suspect; completely in the clear. All of that entered the mind of Nadine as she was at home, drinking a glass of champagne before finally entering her bedroom and searching for a certain something. Finally, Nadine found it: a Ouija board. Was she contacting the spirit of her deceased husband?

Well... a spirit was conjured.

"Josette... we did it."

Nadine was face to face with the spirit of Josette LeClair, and it was not their first encounter. Regarding the house, it had quite a deadly history, and the truth was that Josette's death was by suicide, which she committed after killing her own husband. Nadine had known about the house's past and suggested it to Josh as their new place, as she had her own murderous designs as well, mainly for Josh's wealth. Secretly, Nadine got into the occult and successfully conjured Josette's spirit, which was as evil in death as she was in life.

A few days before the night in question, Nadine allowed Josette to take over her body, and while Josh noticed some eccentricities in his wife, he had no idea what, or who, got into her. When the possessed Nadine slashed Josh's throat, a demonic gleam was in her eyes, and Josette left her vessel right after. Nadine's call to the police was also part of the scheme, as she knew that they would have no explanation for the prints somehow belonging to a long deceased woman.

"It's over," Nadine said, as she and Josette became one again. "I'm in the clear, and I'm a wealthy widow. And the truth will remain a secret between the two of us." As she made her boast, Nadine flashed a sinister smile and demonic eyes, which showed that not only was Nadine elated with her scheme's success, so was her ghostly and evil partner in crime.
