Challenge to craft a love letter between two inanimate objects

My dearest Aqua,

I hope you'll accept my apology for taking my time with this letter.

You asked me to speak my feelings, and at the time, it took me by surprise. Forgive my prudence, for not being able to give you what you asked for in that moment. I never realized my thoughts had been unclear and my feelings unreadable. I’ve been brewing these words for what feels like forever, but here they are.

Although I cannot take all of the blame, for we only get to embrace each other for mere minutes at a time. Each of these minutes is made to count, made to take what there is to take.

Each time we meet, I’m prepared. I wait for you. I wait patiently, taking my last breaths to then give you all that I have, all that I am.

Oftentimes, I cannot see you coming, but without fail, I hear you. I hear your sighs – they deepen, they proliferate and you breathe into the skies making all the surroundings sweaty and dripping.

I’m not jealous, I don’t mind. I know it is just a tease. I know the growing heat is meant for me.

And then you arrive. It is a moment I find hard to describe. The words we have at our disposal are a faint shadow of what you do to me, of what we create when we meet.

At first, it is a steaming breath; it is sacred and slowly grows into an all-consuming embrace. You loosen my stiff and crisp spine, making it twine and bend in ways I’ve never felt before, in ways I didn’t think were possible.

There isn’t a spot on my surface you are not touching. I’m covered in you.

And then, slowly... you steep into me, through me. You soak every millimeter of my being, growing stronger with each caress until I’m spent, languid, floating in you, in the love we created – wallowing in the blink of the moment we have left.

Then we are once again separated, but I still feel you on me, in me. I still drip with you, with us, and I breathe the perfume of our creation into the atmosphere.

Yours always,

Linden Blossom

Everything I read of yours always make me go "whoa." 🤯 This was beautiful, Cristal. Such great imagery, such vivid descriptions. You managed to write such an amazing piece about a flower loving water. I don't know how you did it, but it's here and it's great!
