It was the beginning of fall and we had recently heard a rumor of a cool new app that was created. It was said that if you wished hard enough for something that you wanted the app would lead you to it. Immediately after hearing about, it, I hopped onto the app with my boyfriend. We decided to manifest something of monetary value. We were planning to take a trip to the deserts of Nevada. We said why not, let’s take a chance and see where this takes us. We both have always been the free-spirit adventurous type of people. We love the sense of adventure. So, we hopped onto this app figured why not give it a try. We had both been charging our phone devices getting ready for our trip and filled our tank with gas. We figured we were set. We set on our journey with no intentions but to find something valuable and just have a good time.

As we set our intentions on this app, we got a location to a spot 40 min from where we were. I was so excited I just love anything obscure or abnormal. “Let’s go!” I stated excitedly. My boyfriend started the car and we set on our journey. He was very into adventure and was usually always willing to do any adventurous activities she was wanting to do. This is the type of thing they loved about each other. They set out in the afternoon and as they drove, they went off into the deserted highway. The highway seemed to eventually lead them off into a dirt road off the highway. As they got 10 min from their destination, they realized their destination arrow was moving. This 10 min turned into 30 min to where their arrow had finally stopped moving. They put their windows down and looked around to find they had driven themselves in between two cornfields.

With their windows down they could hear the howling of the wind and found that they were the only thing besides corn insight. This realization gave them a rather ominous feeling. Why would this app bring them out this far and to the middle of nothing? “Well, we’re here,” he said in a rather sarcastic unamused tone. There must be something here she said let’s get off and see where exactly the arrow coordinate is. It was around 6 pm when they got there the sun was setting down and causing the sky to appear orange and a faint red across the whole valley. She thought it looked quite beautiful she hadn’t seen the sunset in a long while. she realized and never this beautiful. He looked around and noticed the beauty of the sky ambiance setting in as well. “You know,” he said, “maybe we might not find anything out here, but this view is worth it”. She agreed and said “well let’s go see where this is trying to lead us. They headed off into the field walking through the brush of corn stalks and long weeds of grass. It didn’t seem too far from where they had parked just about 100 ft. As they got closer, they noticed the sound of crows cawing, and looking up they can see a few circling around in the sky. They hadn’t noticed them earlier. As they got closer, they could hear the wings flapping of these birds and a few caws here and there. They could finally see past the brush to a wide space. In taking a few more steps they see it’s not just wide it’s huge! The space is about 200 ft long.

But right behind a tall post with a large brown and white barn owl. Oh my god, this bird was so large they had never seen such a large owl before. Although they have never seen an owl in person it looked way larger than any they had seen before. The eyes were captivating so piercing black staring right into their souls. It started to get dark and as they checked the time, they realized both of their phones were already at the end of their battery life. This creature was a couple of yards away still, but they could feel the energy from it as if it was right in front of them. Suddenly, a trembling sound from the ground around them. They look around and the rumbling sound stops instantly. They return their gaze to the spot where the owl was perched, and they realize it has flown to another post closer to them. As they check back to their phone to their GPS app destination, they realize that this owl is leading them to their destination. They go and follow the owl that seemed to be in the area with the crows. As the large, majestic bird flies by we approach as well and all the crows begin to disperse into all directions. Leaving almost as if something had told them that they did not want to witness what was to come.

We kept in pursuit as something in us was controlling us to keep going. We reach our destination and we come upon a pond as the owl finally lands right next to it. We stop on the other side of the pond. The owl looks into us again with its piercing eyes and reaches into the pond to retrieve a small mouse. The mouse was still alive it was squirming around trying to break free. It kept squirming but it was no match for the owl that clenched in tighter and snapped the rodent in half. We decide to gaze into the pond as well and saw our reflection and the red skies behind us. As we stayed gazing into it, we began to see things that weren’t in our background. We began to see a glimmering tree where there hadn’t been one before. We began to see stars in the reflection of the red sky. Taken aback by the reflection we were unaware of our surroundings we were entranced. Lastly, we began to see an orb shining in the water it began to move rising to the surface. We reach in and pull out a large gold nugget. “Oh my god, our intentions of manifesting something came true,” I said. It appears this pond was a magical pond of some sort that would give you what you wished for in a sense. I tell him oh my god this owl knew and brought us to what we were looking for.

We both look towards the owl it stares deeply into us and flies in our direction and into the pond. Taken aback they begin to search in the water to see where it went in the wisp of a moment it comes wooshing out louder and larger than ever. It screeches out a hoo, hoo, screech hoo, hoo, screech and lands to where it stood before. Only this time we realized the owl looked completely different as if it had rotted from the inside out. We ran in fear and retraced our steps until we got to the vehicle. Once we got to our vehicle, I realized oh my gosh we didn’t get the golden nugget. As I look over, I tell him “I guess we forgot the main thing we were searching for” in a disappointed tone. He responds by pulling something out of his pocket. “Oh my gosh!” I scream. “You got it!” delighted we went back home to show our families. As we got back into town, he pointed in a direction and said, “Hey we should go there one of these days now that we’re going to have money to spend”. I looked and was confused as I didn’t remember seeing it before, but I agreed. Finally, we reach my family’s house and start to notice things placed differently there as well. As we walk inside and see my mother she gasps, and tears form in her eyes. “What’s wrong?” I asked. She runs to hug us and says “where have you guys been? It’s been five years.”
