Loss of Memory
A Girl Must Reconstruct Her Past After Waking Up One Day With No Memory Of Who She Is.
With a start, Jenifer awoke, feeling dazed and confused. She woke up in bed and discovered she had no idea of her whereabouts or even her identity. She began to feel anxious as she scanned the strange surroundings, attempting to recall anything from her history.
Jenifer inhaled deeply as she made an effort to relax. In the hopes that seeing herself in the bathroom mirror might help her remember, she got out of bed and went there. She was confronted by a stranger's reflection, though. The face staring back at Jenifer was unfamiliar to her.
She looked around the room for any hints as to who she was, but everything seemed unfamiliar to her. The books on the shelf, the artwork hanging on the walls, and the clothing in the closet all gave the impression that they belonged to someone else. While Jenifer struggled to make sense of her circumstances, her heart was pounding.
On the nightstand, she discovered a phone that she attempted to use, but it was password-protected. She became frustrated and began pacing the space, attempting to recall anything about her life before this. She struggled to remember a name, a location, or a face.
Jenifer understood she couldn't stay in this space indefinitely. She needed to identify herself and learn her history. She worked up the bravery to walk out of the room and look around the house.
She came across images of strangers as she moved through the house. When she dug through drawers, she discovered a wallet that included identification bearing her name, Jenifer Walker, but no further details about her past.
When Jenifer began to feel helpless, she suddenly remembered something. She carried a diary with her. She hurriedly looked all over the room for her suitcase before finding it hidden in the closet. She shook her hands as she flipped open the journal in search of clarification.
Her penmanship covered the pages, describing her life and adventures. Jenifer started to put her past together as she read through the journal. She was a writer, and there were plenty of stories and thoughts in the notebook. She had visited numerous locations and interacted with fascinating people, but she was unable to recall any of it.
Jenifer kept reading the notebook in the hopes that something would make her remember something. She turned the pages and saw an entry that gave her breathlessness. She had described in writing how she had suffered memory loss after an accident. She had been in a vehicle accident and had no recall of her previous life.
When she read the entry, tears started to form in her eyes. Jenifer might now proceed in a specific way. She could begin to reassemble her life now that she was aware of what had transpired.
She gave the emergency number on her phone a call and related her experience. She was taken to the hospital for a comprehensive examination after they dispatched an ambulance to pick her up.
Her amnesia was officially diagnosed by the physicians, who also warned her that it might take some time for her memories to come back. That she wasn't alone and that there was still a chance for her to reclaim her history brought Jenifer some relief.
Jenifer put a lot of effort into putting her life back together during the coming weeks. In an effort to refresh her memory, she went to the locations she had written about in her journal. In an effort to fill in the gaps, she met with acquaintances.
Jenifer's memory began to slowly but surely start to return. The memories of people, places, and events poured back into her. She was overcome by the barrage of feelings, but she was appreciative of each memory that came back.
Jenifer eventually succeeded in piecing together her past. She was able to recall her identity, her past actions, and the people who had played a role in her life. It was a protracted and challenging journey.
