Little Bit South

No matter how hard you plan for something. Sometimes things still go south.

It hadn’t been how I expected this to all go. A beautiful night in with one of the loveliest women I know. Her gorgeous strawberry blond hair pulled back into a beautiful ponytail. I could touch it all night if she had allowed me. So soft and smooth like her skin. My wonderous Callisto.

I had the night planned right from the get-go. We would spend the morning on a long hike together. Just her and me. This was something she’d been itching to do since Winter. But never went out as it was much too cold for her. Then again walking in Autumn isn’t her favorite thing either. But she said she had cuter clothes in Autumn than in Winter. And she didn’t fear freezing her nose off during that time.

Anyways, then we would knit together. It is one of my favorite slow time hobbies. I love knitting blankets for family and friends. This sounds like an old woman hobby but, I like it. Despite being a man. And Callisto doesn’t judge me for it. In fact, I would say she enjoys more than me. My little sweetheart. Too good for me if I’m being entirely honest. I don’t know what in the world I did to snag such a sweetheart of a human being.

After we did that, we watched some of her favorite movies. I wanted to watch cheesy comedies that I had. But I figured that it would be nice to let her pick this time. All she wanted to watch were horror movies. Specifically, ‘Slashers’. I’ve never understood her obsession with slasher movies. But I wasn’t going to be rude and not let her have her way this time around. After all I set up this date night because she’d been so down in the dumps lately. Though I somewhat regretted letting her pick all the slashers that she did. ‘Friday the Thirteenth’ and ‘Halloween’. They were so disturbing to me. Sure, I know that they’re super old movies.

But still.

Afterwards, we started dinner together. Her favorite meal, too. Grilled salmon with a spinach salad. Along with some brown rice. I’m still not entirely sure why she was such a fan of this. But who am I to judge? My favorite dinner is plain chicken with boiled vegetables. While we made dinner, she acted off. Being a lot less talkative than she normally is. Which is a lot as Callisto is talkative and open with what she’s thinking. How she’ll speak about what comes to her mind, won’t sugarcoat anything.

So, you can imagine my surprise when she grabbed a knife from the block. Held it towards me in a threatening manner. Shouting about how I couldn’t hold her hostage anymore. That I wouldn't keep her here anymore. I tried to calm her down but, it didn't work. She ignored my sweet words, and she drove the knife into my gut.
