Exoplanet 1
Alarms sounded all around Private Chester Montgomery. The bright red flashes from the alarms burned his eyes as he fought to open them for the first time in nearly a thousand years. His body tingled from having been in a medically induced coma that had preserved his body and mind all this time. Fresh air rushed into the glass tube that had kept him safe, the hiss of the air bringing some strength back to his body.

Eye of the Beholder
Jane looked the boy over through cracked goggles. He was rail thin, his belly distended from his short lifetime of hunger. The remains of his cracked lips revealed his rotting teeth, the same color as his sunken eyes. His thin yellow skin, full of bulging blue veins hung from his bones where he lay on the ground. The boy's blood still oozed from the wound on his neck, a deep gash. Jane counted to ten after the boy’s final spasm and adjusted her grip on her rusted, bloody hatchet.

A Dystopian Lifestyle
New York had been devastated by the sudden virus. Everywhere on the news, the reports acted as though it was just another flu season, until we started getting the international reports. It was worse than they had anticipated. Because our president hadn’t taken it seriously and told people to at least wear masks, more than half the population of the US was dead in a year. The President even died before the ruling of his impeachment. Tons of government officials had died as well.

Locket of the Sky
Search Party 22, entry #1, year 2072 The world is ending. The ground hasn’t stopped shaking and the sky has been filled with lightning and storms for years. It all started after the world came into existence, and the earth first moved, and the sky gave life breath. For eons, the living embodiment of the Earth, Gaia, and the embodiment of the sky, Uranus, loved each other with all their hearts. They created all life on the planet and ensured the survival of everything upon her body and in the heavens. The two were made for each other in every sense, but one day, Uranus’ eyes began to wonder on the women of the world, and Gaia felt betrayed at his actions. The very first storm was their first fight, and it raged for days as they shouted and fought over what Uranus had done. In the end, he apologized to his love for his mistake, and the storm finally subsided, but sadly, things did not end there.

Into the Unkown
The uncut grass felt like thorns against my neck, back, and legs. The hot sun made my skin sticky and wet, baking my body in the 105 degree heat. Flies and ants desperately hovered over me as if I were a carcass of an animal long gone. I knew she could feel it too, so why were we here? She looked over at me and smiled, something I hadn’t seen in quite a while. Something so simple, yet taken for granted.

A Reason To Go On
I jolted awake from a fitful sleep. Nightmares have been plaguing me lately, more than usual. I rubbed the sleep and sweat from my face as I felt around for my lantern, somehow I managed to knock it away from next to me in my sleep. Turning the knob, it barely gave off any light. Crap. Batteries were a rare luxury and it would be a freaking miracle if I managed to find any while out scavenging, I was even lucky I managed to find the lantern. I hissed as my body cramped and popped as I stood up, I had to get resources and it was always safer, and cooler, to start before the wretched sun rose.

Kraya 1
“I’m afraid I have rather grave news,” Captain Fenn said as the crew filtered onto the command deck. Fists clenched by her sides, her blue-grey skin paler than normal. Twenty-three officers filed in and she had to find some way to tell them they were all going to die. Them, as well as the 300 civilians in her charge. Adrian, the only human on her crew, entered last, wearing his oxygen mask.

The Final Death
I don’t know who wrote the code. I wonder if they are like us, a human species, or if they are something else entirely. Either way, I cannot imagine their purpose in creating this place. I cannot imagine what they hoped to accomplish in sending our minds here.

Ryan & The Earth's Secret
It’s been a long time since I’ve seen earth. We inhabited Mars in the year 2321. Generations have passed and we’ve been living here peacefully. It's the AutoGround, which gives civilians a quick transportation here and there. It’s pretty much the same as a train or metro. I’m headed to my old house. I plan to get my own place. I think it's about time I moved out. The house actually belongs to my parents but they passed away 2 years ago. I miss them a lot but as the saying goes, life moves on - and onto new adventures!
