Jason meets Michael

A “Friday the 13th”/“Halloween” crossover story

By Joe PattersonPublished 2 years ago Updated 2 years ago 3 min read

The date is Friday, October 13th. A shape walks through the quiet, exiles streets of Haddonfield, Illinois at 12:01 a.m. His name is Michael Myers. Over 40 years ago he made the town of Haddonfield infamous after he went on a murder spree attempting to kill his younger sister, Laurie Strode on Halloween night in 1978. Her whereabouts have been unknown for years. Because she has been unreachable Michael has been living on the outskirts of the town in the barren sewers of the town, out of sight and out of mind. No one is aware of his presence and most of the town believes he is dead. With his sister Laurie nowhere to be found Michael looks towards the sky desiring connection to Laurie beyond Haddonfield. He rises up from the pits of the town sewers with his old and rusted butcher knife in hand and begins his departure from Haddonfield.

Michael Myers

3:38 a.m. Friday, October 13th. Underneath the soil of Cunningham County’s Camp Crystal Lake lies a dormant giant by the name of Jason Voorhees. In 1957, Jason drowned at Camp Crystal Lake after counselors were not watching him. His mother Pamela eventually took her revenge for her son’s fate by killing a few would be counselors who sought to reopen the camp, until one of them killed her in self defense. In the years that followed Jason would return from his dormant sleep under the soil of Camp Crystal Lake to kill anyone who returned to the wilderness of the camp grounds as punishment, believing them to be no different than the young counselors who’s negligence allowed him to drown as a young boy. Jason’s reputation has earned Crystal Lake the nickname “Camp Blood”. Jason has been asleep for some time, but now a presence unlike any victim he has ever encountered is closing in on his wilderness.

Jason Voorhees

Michael Myers has been slowly walking away from the streets of Haddonfield for over two hours. While walking ghost filled streets to the middle of nowhere he stumbles across a sign. He looks down to examine it and it reads “Camp Crystal Lake”. Michael looks up from the sign and continues walking ahead. As he continues his trek to the grounds of Crystal Lake he surveys the cabins ahead, looking at them with a sense of wonder.

Feeling an unknown presence arriving on the camp grounds Jason starts clawing his way to the surface of the earth between the cabins and the waters of Crystal Lake. With a machete in hand Jason begins to walk towards the cabin to investigate. As Jason approaches the cabin he catches sight of a white maske peeking out through shadows of the empty cabin door. The figure is Michael Myers.

As Michael slowly unveiled himself Jason stared him in his eyes and saw something he had never seen in the eyes of a Crystal Lake visitor, nothing. Jason was confused at this being standing before him. Other than his own reflection, Jason had never seen another creature who was alive yet still so dead at the same time. He looked in Michael’s eyes and saw pitch black. Death for no reason at all, yet seeking reason at the same time.

Jason

Michael looked in Jason’s eyes and he could sense his pain and the reasoning behind the mask. For the first time ever, Michael had something he was never fully able to grasp before, understanding. Michael looked in Jason’s eyes and not only saw a killer like himself, but also a victim, much like many of the lives that Michael and Jason had both ended for decades. It was as if the two ghouls of tragedy were having a silent conversation with each other with just a simple look in the eye. Michael looked at Jason and saw his victimhood and Jason looked at Michael and saw his aimless darkness.

Michael backed himself into the darkness of the cabin after which Jason pursued him. When Jason reached the shadows Michael was gone. Even Jason’s warped psyche was captivated by the presence of this being whom he had never seen the likes of before. He was now left to wonder if the two would ever meet again.

This was great, and so creative. Well done..

  • Is it just me or is this meeting of the murderers amazing! It could be called a “serial” convention!

  • Interested twisted story of the meeting of two horrifying murderers/monsters. Both Friday the 13th and Halloween are favorites of mine... along with Nightmare on Elm Street.
