"Scissors."

"Scissors."

"Sewing thread."

"Sewing thread."

The sweat was beading off of Dr. Zahir's head. The pressure's never been higher for him before. One wrong move, could cost him more than his job.

"Blood pressure readings?"

"Stable, sir."

After suturing the patient up, him and the nurses all sat in the room, checking the vitals nonstop. Sure, Dr. Zahir's accustomed to death, but not one that could have an effect of this magnitude. It's not everyday that a presidential candidate gets assassinated during election night.

Peeling his gloves off, he left the room, grabbed a mat, turned East, and prayed.

The pacing in this story is truly great. The reveal of the patient is impactful and paints Dr. Zahir's previous stress very brightly. The final sentence communicates a denouement and release that pair with the previous action in a lovely way. I enjoy seeing a doctor humanized like this.
