Gina and Raquel were talking on the phone.
“Hey! Guess what?”
Gina was now the excited one.
“You signed us up for The Amazing Race in Dubai?”
Raquel guessed as she continued to paint her Pomeranian dog’s toenails a bright green color.
“Not that exciting or extreme. Besides we’d need to workout more if we’re gonna race across the world.”
“So what have you done?”
“Well, remember that traumatic blind date experience you sent me on?”
“Yes, unfortunately… How could we forget?”
She gave her dog a quick kiss and nod of approval since she was done painting its toe nails.
“Well, it’s pay back time of course! Although… don’t worry, I did thorough research and he’s not an undercover cop. He’s a cowboy from Durango, Colorado here out of town on vacation. He’s not a fake. He seems like a fun person to be around, per some of his social media sites.”
“Ooh, what a surprise. I’m down for a date with a cowboy! Sounds fantastic! Let me guess… since it’s Friday, you probably set it up for tonight, huh?”
“Wow! You do know me!”
Gina gleefully laughed.
“Yup! We’ve been friends long enough.”
“Truth. If I were guessing what you were doing right now, I’d guess that you’re probably buying some rediculous dog stroller or outfit for PomPom… that spoiled little twit!”
Raquel rolled her eyes and covered her dog’s ears. Then she uncovered the ears and whispered to the dog,
“Don’t listen to her, sweetie, she’s just jealous that you have all the cute things in life!”
Raquel flipped her bangs with a sassy attitude as she looked in her mirror.
“Don’t be so rude to my little dear-heart who makes me smile. No, I wasn’t buying anything for PomPom, just painting her toenails green... maybe.”
“Green? Are you suddenly inspired from the new Wicked movie you made me watch?”
“Oh, maybe a little.”
“Okay, we’re digressing here… So anyway get ready for the date. He’s coming to pick you up at your apartment at 5 p.m. I’ll come hang out at your apartment while you guys go out but would you be a doll and put that green toenailed thingy of yours in a cage… I mean its doggie palace?”
“Ha, yeah we’ll see about that! See you soon. Bye!”
Raquel set her phone down and skipped to her closet and pulled out her best cowgirl outfit. She turned to PomPom who was lounging on the bed like a haughty princess.
“Oh, PomPom, I’m so glad you understand my sense of style!”
About twenty minutes later Gina arrived at the apartment. She eyed the dog on the bed with a half smirk.
“You almost ready, Raquel?”
“Yep!”
She turned around with a cute raw hem denim half jacket over a white crop top under it. She was sporting ripped jeans that were likely far too tight and a cowgirl hat to top it all off.
“Wow! I don’t know how you do it, you like adorable!”
The doorbell rang.
“He’s here.”
Raquel led the way confidently like she was about to lasso a bull or something. She opened the door and waved goodbye to Gina and blew her a kiss.
“Have fun with PomPom in there!”
Gina closed the door and then Raquel was gone. She heard the dog jump down from and bed and whimper for Raquel. Gina rolled her eyes at the dog.
“You’ll be okay. She’ll be back in just a little while…”
There was a knock at the door and then Raquel came back into the apartment.
Gina blinked and then asked,
“Was it a speed date?”
“Funny enough… there’s two of them.”
“Two of what?”
Gina’s mouth gaped open wide. Raquel continued.
“The cowboy has an identical twin brother who came with him. I guess they do everything together and they asked if I had a friend to go with the other brother… well, I couldn’t lie and say you don’t exist, so I told them you’d be happy to come with us… so put your shoes on it’s not a speed date but it’s a double date! They want to take us to the county fair because there is a rodeo at the fair that they thought we’d enjoy!”
Raquel just giggled. Gina was in shock. She refuted with,
“But I’m not dressed up for this!”
“Not to worry! Just be you!”
Raquel pulled Gina through the door who was quickly getting her shoes on.
“Hey guys, this is my friend Gina and we’re excited to get to know ya’ll a bit and check out this here rodeo! Yeeehawww!”
The cowboy twins smiled with endearing enthusiasm.

I love it! This is hilarious... The guys showed up in a Ram, they have matching black team roping stallions , and the girls become smitten. (with the horses ) 😆🤣
Oh boy. I like the twins but I hate rodeos for their cruelty. I hope Komal rescues all the steers 😉
lol, this is so much fun now! A double date? Absolute banger 🤭 I love how you add these create plot twists... I'm excited to read what happens on this date. Now, that you've also mentioned 'wicket', I think I have to watch it...It's super hyped. Am I the only one who's not watched it?
This is pure chaos in the best way! The twist? Gina’s thrown into rodeo night with zero prep, but Raquel’s “Yeehaw” energy steals the show. What’s next—a lasso showdown or funnel cake face-off? I’m here for it! 😉✨
