I met my boyfriend, Xander, eleven months ago and let me tell you, we have been off and on but the love we have for each other is so immense that I feel that if I ever lost him, I would die.

It was a cold, rainy August night, I was on a need to see another person to feel like I'm alive still, type of night. The pandemic had hit and we were all, stuck in our houses, alone. I needed the company, I craved the conversation of another person. You know, just like everyone felt at the beginning of this pandemic. It started with a mask, and eventually got to the point of no going out. I hated it, I'm assuming the whole world felt like this. So I quickly grabbed my phone and turned on Grindr. The hell with it, I won't kiss him, or allow him to breathe near me.

Alas, bait and hook. "Hello." I typed.

"Hey." He didn't seem too intrigued.

"What are you doing on this cold, rainy night?"

"Just home, laying down, a bit drunk." Xander replied.

"I mean, I have some drink here, if you'd like to come drink with me." I said.

It took a bit of convincing but he decided to come over and drink with me.

"I'm so glad you came over." I said as I put my arm around him. He leaned in closer and we started kissing.

It was two days later and I decided I would message him. "Hey," I said.

"What's up?" he quickly replied.

"What're you doing tonight?"

"Nothing planned."

"Why don't you come by and i'll cook you a nice dinner."

"Sweet, I'll be there like around five?"

"Sounds great see ya then."

I quickly started the sauce for Fettucini Alfredo. I made the sauce from scratch and everything was waiting for hi to arrive.

He knocked on the door and let him in.

"Hey." Xander said as he kissed me.

"Hi babe." I know we're not even together but I already liked him.

"The food is so good, thank you." Xander said, excitedly.

"You're welcome. I enjoyed doing it." I said as I winked.

It was a cold winter morning and I had recieved a call from Matthew, Xander's roommate, he had told me that Xander had passed away. I got up out my bed and ran to the bathroom and threw up. "No! Xander, how ould you leave me here, alone?" I screamed a I choked down tears and wails from deep down inside my sould. I couldn't believe it. He had just come over yesterday and spent the day with me.

Xander's services were vey beautiful. Flowers everywhere, his face in the serives cards, he looked dashing. It was a picture of the day we went to see a movie. He wore a burgundy button-up shirt with black jeans and black shoes. His chest bulged out of the shirt. His arms looked as if they were ready to bust open but no, Xander wore it so handsomely. He smiled so wide, he was so happy. He was always so happy. After the services ended I went home and curled up in my blankets and cried for my dear Xander. I cried until th tears wouldn't come out any longer. I took a shower and then I lay in bed, falling asleep. A tear fell down my cheek ever so slowly. I closed my eyes and fell into a deep sleep. And there, on that winter morning, I passed away and lived happily ever after with my Xander.
