Eyes That Spoke Before Words
Short love story: He went to the Alps for peace...but found a smile he could never forget.

Hazel, a boy from the city quiet, thoughtful, a little lost in the chaos of life agreed to a holiday in the Swiss Alps just to escape routine. His friends pushed him into it, hoping he’d breathe a little, live a little.
He brought his camera, thinking he’d spend days capturing mountains and clouds.
But then… he saw Freya.
A village girl, full of simplicity. No filters, no rush-just grace, and that soft, shy smile.
The first time Hazel saw her, she was standing barefoot in the cold grass, laughing with her eyes closed, head tilted back.
And in that moment, time stopped for him.
“Do people really smile like that?” he wondered.
Every day, he’d find her by the lake, near the church, across the flower fields. He never said a word, just smiled… watched.
And Freya? She noticed. She always noticed. Her eyes would light up just a little when she saw him, though her lips stayed quiet.
One day, she softly asked,
“You’ll leave soon, won’t you? Back to your city?”
Hazel looked down. He couldn’t answer.
After that, she vanished.
He searched the hills, the narrow paths, the village square. She was nowhere.
The day his train was scheduled, he waited at the platform, empty inside.
But she came.
With a small notebook in her hand.
“This has all the words I couldn’t say,” she whispered, handing it to him… and walked away.
On the train, Hazel opened the diary.
“I knew you wouldn’t say it. I couldn’t either.
But the eyes they always told the truth.
If you ever return…
Say it then.
I’ll be here. Waiting.”
6 months later…
A city boy returned to the Alps, camera in hand—not for pictures this time,
But to win the love he never dared to lose.
