This is one of the sites where I train in the morning. It has an incredible atmosphere, and there's something magical about practicing my martial arts (Tai Chi, Qigong, Neigong, and some Karate) on the plateau at the top of the hill. Surprisingly, I rarely get interrupted by anyone.
Eternal Stairway
Step by step, amid precipitation and wind.
occasionally the dark mist
of autumnal, frosty fog.
I find my way into the heart
of my existence and the Buddha nature.
must confront the real truth.
Step by step, through the wonky.
I climb the stairs leading to the summit of Haw Hill.
In pursuit of my mindless self.
Looking out north, south, east, and west.
Inwards to the nothingness within me,
I discover calm and tranquillity.
My body moves; my mind remains motionless.
And my intention drives my movement.
to nowhere and everywhere:
the paradoxical truth
of the stairway to eternity
where my soul finds sustenance;
Where I can be here and no…
-where, standing at the summit of the
still stairway to eternity.
I hope you enjoyed my poem. If you did, I’d be grateful if you could scroll right down to the bottom of the page, so your visit counts as a read. Thank you very much.
