A pillar post to make my life easier
I aim to write my daily micro fiction stories so that you can enjoy them as stand alone stories. I have kinda sorta cheated on my story every day challenge by serialising some of them.
I hope you can still enjoy serialised ones as stand alone stories, or, if you like, one after the other.

This is a series I started just a couple of weeks into my personal Story Every Day challenge. I revisited it purely because I enjoyed writing about Moira so much. I like her when she grows pincers and torments people in their nightmares, or when she revels in a bit of a bloodbath. I also like her when she shapeshifts, and takes the form of a cat in a bid to comfort a young child.
I never expected it to reach this length!
Some days the words just tumble out, and other days... they most assuredly do not. Yesterday was one of those days. I'd had (what I thought was) a cool idea for a story. It had been knocking around in my skull for a few days, and I wanted to give it legs and see where it went. But it just wouldn't go.
I set the characters up all different ways, and they went a bit, and then fizzled out. The story kept hitting dead ends. The background was gappy, so I tried filling that in, only to turn around and find... it was still empty. None of that stuff stuck either.
OK, no dramas. I'll just pick up one of the other ideas I've got flapping loose.
I had idea after idea, and I threw each one at the wall. Patiently, I might add. Multiple times. I really tried to get each noodle to stick but it just wouldn't. It's like a fart, right? If you have to really force it, it's probably shit.
Now we can wax lyrical about why this sometimes happens, and whether it counts as writers block or not. I think yesterday, the answer was pretty simple: I'd just been to watch Furiosa and I came away feeling several IQ points stupider, with engines still rattling in my ears. Probably a subconscious effort to drown out questions like "but why did she-", but I digress.
The Dreamscape noodle was the one that finally stuck. It went in a totally different direction than I'd imagined, but that's OK. I'm curious to see what happens next.

Sudoku
The form of entertainment called puzzles is both complex and remarkably simple. They retain their appeal and relevance from history to the present day. They come in a wide range of formats and types, from traditional jigsaw puzzles to various logic games available across books and electronic media. Throughout all of history, puzzles have engaged individuals across generations and endured from early societies to the modern era. Among these, Sudoku has been one of my personal favorites since childhood. Although some may find Sudoku intimidating, I am drawn to the logical process of ruling out possibilities. The simple rules focus on the puzzle's logical nature. Once they are discovered, the primary goal is to resist the wanting to keep solving. The goal of the game of Sudoku is to find a single correct answer through logical deduction. This puzzle’s lasting allure stems from its ability to combine a simple design with complex logical reasoning. Thus, this guide will analyze how Sudoku’s structure and logic exemplify the challenging appeal and cognitive benefits of puzzles, both as timeless entertainment and as tools for developing logical reasoning. The rows, columns, and squares create a game of deduced answers in the grid to achieve final conquest.

Give yourself a break, dear creator. I think that most big time creator types get a day off, or something. So many of your stories are gems, but they can't all be. And sometimes Mr. Brian (borrowing from Dharr there) doesn't want to work with us as we'd like him to. And yes, shit happens. 🤣

Your fart metaphor as a warning against forcing a story is laugh out brilliant. And like all great metaphors, it pithily and perfectly communicates its meaning. It’s amazing how much shit we sometimes wade through to find even a decent story let alone a really good one.
