There weren't always dragons in the Valley. I kind of thought they were mythical. At least that is what I was taught. I was also taught four sentences to a paragraph, but it is pretty much the end of the world. I will do my best, small diary I found, but I promise nothing. I think I forgot something. Oh … the date. It is currently February 17th, 2142.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Bastian Smithers and I come from money. Old money, actually. Well, I did before my father lost it in a trifecta of bad decisions. Let's just say you can't always use money to get out of bad situations. And the house always wins. I have brown hair, like him. I have green eyes, like my mom, and a great smile. I live in a tricked out houseboat. It was built from scratch and designed for me. I lucked out on my 25th birthday. I currently call the lake next to the valley home.
I feel like I should say something more about the dragons before I stop writing. There isn't much to tell right now. My best guess as to why they have returned is global warming. The last ice shelf has melted and the average temperature is now 15 degrees higher. Three dragons landed a few days ago, but all they really do is sleep during the day. I have my long lense camera pointing that direction with a camcorder recording what comes up on the screen. I haven't caught much so far. I guess bye for now.

I have some news. It seems they only eat every few days. My camera caught the biggest one fly off one night. When it came back it had a cow clutched in its claws. It did this several more times that night, but it has not done it since. They really keep to themselves. I have even caught them swimming in the lake.
The local government has already put up signs about avoiding the lake and how it is infested. Many people have started crowding the trees to the north of the valley to take pictures of the dragons. People are stupid. The circle keeps getting closer everyday. As of today they are at the edge of the trees. No one has been eaten yet, but again people are stupid.
There are talks of changing the local high school mascot, the Chipmunks, to the Dragons. The community has already had pictures of them blown up and branded them the town's pets. Some farmers have even donated livestock to a dragon's fundraiser. I should say now that I foresee an overarching theme for this journal; people are stupid. I will say one thing for my community and that is they are determined.

Okay, I have to start this entry off with PEOPLE ARE STUPID! The mayor, Dr. Steve Ashworth declared it Dragons Day. It was like a circus came to town with all of the booths with dragon merchandise and the people. There were news crews, papers, bloggers and just regular people roaming around the edge of the valley. Thankfully the only ones hurt were the animals brought as tribute to the large reptilian creatures.
Sarah Yamaguchi, the TV anchor, was even there. I watched as she introduced the three dragons with their new, community voted on, names. The largest was Bahamut, the next was Bolla and the smallest was Elliot. After that the screen moved to someone leading cows and goats towards a massive hole in the middle of the valley. This ended with fire erupting from the hole and the person running for their life. The program went to commercial after that and when it came back on it was in the studio instead of out in the valley. I need to go, but I will keep you updated.

The morning of February 25th was chaotic in the valley. TV crews appeared just after dawn at the trees that separated the valley and the main road into town. They were all too scared to step past the inner treeline so everything was setup just inside it. The crowd only grew after that. People from all over had come out to see the dragons.
Sarah Yamaguchi showed up in a black oversized luxury vehicle and immediately started bossing people around. Her jet black hair was wafting in the slight breeze as she scanned the valley from behind the treeline.
"I am not doing this if I have to get any closer!" Sarah declared as the field producer walked up to her.
"We are only going to go a few steps in," the producer, Rob, said, "The light is perfect for you over there, Sarah. You will look gorgeous!"
"I will not be eaten, Rob!" Sarah yelled and stomped.
"Sarah, Honey, it is less than twenty feet in," Rob explained, "And it is a quick seven minutes. You got this, Sugar."
"Shut up, Rob!" Sarah stomped again, like a petulant child.
At this point, around 10:30am, the crowd was so large it was spilling out into the valley. There were now multiple booths selling all sorts of dragon merchandise and food. The noise level had been steadily rising since dawn and no one was concerned. A little after 11am the livestock showed up and everything started moving.
"Come on, Sarah, the cows are here," Rob declared, "Let's get this going!"
"We can do this here in the trees," Sarah said as she tiptoed through the mud away from the open field, "The light is good enough here. I can stand in profile so you just get my left side."
"Are you scared to stand out there?" A random passerby asked, "Look at all of those people with their booths."
"I am … actually," Sarah replied, "I don't need to be out there. They can zoom in!"
"Isn't your line 'In the action'?" Another random person laughed at her.
"I am here, aren't I?" Sarah asked back, loathing in her words.
"The light is perfect and it is only six minutes," Rob begged.
"Don't you want to be 'In The Action'!" Yet another random person laughed after saying the catch phrase in an official reporter voice.
"It isn't important for me to be out there," Sarah retorted, "I am here and Terry can zoom in … right Terry?"
"I think we should have set up out there in the first place." Terry responded.
"It will be a beautiful shot with you out there Sarah," Rob pleaded, "And it is only five minutes."
The first random person chimed in with a snide, "There are even children out 'In The Action'!"
"FINE!" Sarah yelled before stomping her way out into the field.
This caused the line to surge forward as people wanting to watch Sarah swarmed behind the camera man.
"Thank you, Sandra! Today has been declared Dragon Day by the mayor and I am in the action," Sarah started her segment which made the crowd laugh, "As you can see I am in what is now called Dragon Valley. The mayor is here and we are almost set to feed the dragons. As you can see on your screen the votes are in for the naming of these beautiful creatures. The largest one, the father we believe, has been named Bahamut. The mother, which is the second largest, is now Bolla and the baby dragon is Elliot, after the Disney classic Pete's Dragon."
At this point the livestock appeared on screen. The 3 cows and 2 goats were being led out towards the hole the dragons had dug.
"As you can see now, the cows and goats, donated by three local farmers, are being led towards the dragon's lair. And leading the tasty morsels is Farmer Bob," Sarah continued, "Our very own meteorologist, Sunny Rain! Why, I do not know, but he volunteered. Um … right, for those of you just tuning in, we are here in the action at Dragon Valley. We are just about to feed the new residents."
The livestock, and Sunny Rain, slowly approached the hole. There was a loud roar and fire erupted out of the lair. The largest winged dinosaur came rushing out, spraying fire all around the livestock. Sunny hit the ground in a fetal position, hat ablaze. The very next picture was that of the local waterpark advertising their new dragon ride.
