Darkness and Light
Content Warning: Infant Death
“Let there be light.”
One day I might have learned that was a line from another story, but as it stands I won’t. Still, plagiarised or not, it seems a fitting start for mine.
Because my story did start with a burst of light. There were people too. I think that's what they were.
I was angry that I'd been been forced out from the warmth and darkness. It made me want to cry. I might have if the darkness hadn't come back.
I think someone else cried.
My life was about as long as this story.

The People Of The Forest
It was a cold and foggy morning when a man walking his dog found her standing next to a bloody body on the edge of the forest. She barely responded to the dog walker when he asked her what happened to her and if she were all right. He eventually called the police to the scene. It turned out the dead man was a wanted criminal that had been on the run for months. He had been kidnapping girls, doing god knows what to them, and then leaving them dead at their family’s doorstep.

Oh wow, there’s an eerie proto-emotionality here fitting of a preborn. It makes it sadder, the abrupt ending before the beginning. Very unique approach to this subject, meta, but still incredibly crafted. 👏❤️
