Setting:

Set in Rockview Michigan (I made it up, it could exist, maybe not I don't know lol)

Set in Rockview Michigan a group of teenager are figuring out that life only gets harder and the best way to push through it is together. They all have their individual struggles and combined problems but they stick together no matter what.

Meet the Cast:

Makayla Bowman:

Makayla is the main character. She is a 15 year old freshman attending Rockview High School with her friends.

Personality:

She is sarcastic yet deeply cares for the people around her. She is a problem solver and usually won't stop until she get an answer. Painful events cause her to gain trust issues a change from the very trusting little girl she used to be. The only people her trust never faded for was her friend group of 6. Her friend group includes Olivia Torres, Jordan Powell, Marcus Miller, Tyler Reigns, and Madi Moore.

Looks:

Her look was very preppy at a young age she was very into the whole butterflies and rainbow thing but as she's aged her style has too. Her style has definitely darkened. Her style in season 1 is more earth girl but a tad bit of grunge, y2k, and streetwear all mixed into an aesthetic later on which pairs well with her caramel complexion and sliver jewelry. She often wears her hair in dark curls during the first season, but her hair is definitely not too constant and she isn't terrified to switch it up. She's not the biggest on makeup but knows how to put it on in the right times. She's not the worlds tallest person so her style fights back a little when her baggy pants never fit right and drags against the ground. She's curvy and isn't afraid to show some skin. She'll pop out in low waisted flare jeans and a crop top any day.

Family:

The Bowman Family consist of Michael Bowman (45), Melinda Bowman (43), Makayla Bowman (15), and Penelope Bowman (7)

The Bowman's were pretty much the perfect white picket fence family... until they weren't. The whole dynamic of the family changes after the first episode.

They are a mixed race household with Michael being white and Melinda being Black

Michael is normally a strong hearted and lovable guy. He loves both his kids with his entire heart and body. Him and Melinda have been together since she was 23. They knew each other since high school but never pursued a relationship because their grades were different. She was a freshman and he was a junior and at the time they thought it was weird for them to date. After the first episode he becomes a shell of the man he once was.

Friends:

Her friends mean nothing but the world to her. They all just hangout and laugh most days.

Olivia (Liv) is her girl best friend out of the group. She met her in late kindergarten when Liv came halfway through the school year and needed a friend.

Jordan is her guy best friend out of the group. He and Makayla were born to be friends.. literally. Melinda and Jordan's mom (Susan) are close friends from college and got pregnant at the same time and Jordan and Makayla were raised together. Jordan was very welcoming when it came to Liv and they became 3 peas in a pod until 3rd grade.

Tyler & Marcus had been friends with each other since the 1st grade. Marcus is pretty much a loner but some how managed to love these guys. Tyler is like the older brother of the group. He was placed in school a year early so he's one year older than everyone else. He met the 3 peas in a pod first then convinced Marcus to join them one day. Marcus was hesitant but eventually warmed up. The 5 of them pretty much spent most of their time goofing around and having adventures.

Madi spent most of her life living up to the mean rich girl stereotype she saw on TV. Her friends were bullies and she loved the attention. She only ever wanted the big things in life and knew her parents would give it to her. It wasn't until 8th grade when things started to change for her. She lost some of her most popular friends to the shiny new girl Natalie Takoda. She felt misplaced in her own life. She tried to keep up the mean girl act but it was failing. With no one giving her the attention she craved she became bitter and often by herself till one day Tyler walked up to her at lunch and offered her a seat at the table of 5. The others rejected the idea but he pushed until they caved in. They didn't immediately click but by the end of the year she was officially apart of the group.

Wyatt is a friend of Tyler and Jordan. All three of them play on the schools basketball team in high school, The Rockview Ravens. He isn't apart of the friend group but kinda hangs because he think they're chill. His hanging out is definitely influenced by the feelings he has for Makayla.

Jordan Powell:

As you know him and Makayla have been friends from the start.

Jordan is 15 years old and attends Rockview High and plays for the basketball team.

Personality:

Jordan is very caring and wears his heart on his sleeve. He make sure that with everything he does he does it at 100%. He doesn't take no for an answer when helping the people he cares about. He's smarter than he lets off, mainly due to him needing to have good grades to stay on the team and his dad getting on him all the time about sports. His mom makes him tutor other kids at school she thinks he's being selfish when he doesn't want to help others. With his friends, it is the only time he feels that he can truly just be himself. He's the more goofy friend always showing his teeth because he's always laughing and joking.

Looks:

Jordan isn't the biggest fashionista but he does have style. He often dresses pretty athletic. Usually donning sweatpants or baggy jeans, AF1s or Jordans and for shirts it's usually just plain or graphic tees or a hoodie. He always wears his dads sliver wristwatch. His light skin tone makes his uniquely blue eyes pop against his medium length brown wavy hair.

Family:

The Powell household is Kurt Powell (49), Susan Powell(43) , Katie Powell (20), and Jordan Powell (15)

Kurt is the head of the house. Him and Susan are still together but they aren't the closest. They both work all day but when they are together at home they are usually 9 times out of 10 arguing over having the same point but just wanting to argue. Between Jordan's house and Marcus' the group tends to bounce from house to house for hangouts. When Jordan was younger and his parents were happier they built him and Katie a huge treehouse that the group still uses to this day. When Kurt is home he drinks beer and watches sports all day and the only way Jordan can talk to him is to talk about sports.

Susan is a nurse and she works crazy hours. She isn't home much but she loves both her kids immensely. A part of her wants better for her kids and wants to leave Kurt but another part of her doesn't want her kids to live without their father. A naive part of her still thinks if she waits long enough he'll go back to how he was. They didn't start fighting until Katie started high school. Kurt is never physical with her just verbal especially when he's had his drinks.

Katie is Jordan's "cool" older sister or at least that's what the group called her when they were younger. She was a cheerleader her entire time in high school. She had plenty of friends and went to a ton of parties to avoid coming home most days. She wanted to protect Jordan from it all and she did a good job until college. When it was time for college Katie left as fast as she could and never looked back.

Friends:

His dynamic is pretty much the same as Makayla with the friend group.

Wyatt is his friend from basketball. Jordan is the center, Wyatt is the PF, and Tyler is the point guard. They worked out together during summer training and got close. Jordan isn't Wyatt's biggest fan when it comes to him flirting with Makayla.

Natalie gets tutored by Jordan every Thursday after school. She first walked in saying if anyone found out she needed to be tutored she'd be pissed. After a few session Jordan realized she wasn't that bad. They become Acquaintances. Jordan kept his word about not mentioning him tutoring her because he didn't want his friends to know because he knew they wouldn't like it. Makayla doesn't just not like her because Madi joined the group but Makayla claims she gets bad vibes from her whenever she's near.

Olivia Torres:

Her and Makayla are platonic soulmates. They care for each other like blood sisters.

She cheers with Madi on the Cheer squad. Liv wanted to be a cheerleader ever since she was little and she used to practice Katie's routine with her.

Personality:

Liv has a bold personality, from a young age she was raised to never dull herself for others. Her mom told her "there would be people in this world that want to see her fail but she just had to prove them wrong" and that's what she did. She would go down fighting for her friends if she had to. She was a military kid that moved around a lot. She was born and a few months later they moved and 3 years later they moved again and again. When she was 6 they moved to Rockview and stayed there but when she was 8 her father passed. She has one older brother and two younger brothers. Her mom is a single parent and Liv feels the need to help her mom alongside with her older brother.

Looks:

Her vibe is very y2k and streetwear. She loves bold colors due to the fact that she won't make herself small in any room she walks in. She love makeup but doesn't go overboard for her everyday look so she can "wow people when they see her" She gets glammed up for cheer all the time. She learned most of her makeup skills from Katie and Melinda they both taught Makayla too. Melinda taught her the skills she uses for her everyday. Katie helped her learn glam and how to go big. Her long dark brown hair is usually straighten or just slightly curled. When she feels like it she throws it up in a high pony or slick backed claw clip updo.

The Torres Family is Peter Torres (deceased), Kami Torres (40), PJ Torres (19), Liv Torres (15), Takoa (Koa) Torres (7), Takai (Kai) Torres (7)

Kami is a single mother working hard to provide for her kids. She was pregnant with the twins when Peter sadly passed. Despite their struggle they live in a nice house they bought with the military money they got. The previous house was not prepared for twins, it was too small.

PJ is the oldest Torres son. He went to work instead of going to college to help his mom. When he isn't working he's out with the few friends he does have. He cares about all his siblings but him and Liv bump heads like normal siblings. She feels he often resents her because of the fact she lives a "happier" life than him.

Takoa & Takai got their names due to Kami finding out she was pregnant with them in Japan. Japan was Peter's favorite place he was ever assigned to. They are two energetic twin that give Kami, PJ, and Liv hell. They were born after the passing of Peter. They are two elementary schoolers that cause trouble in the way most kids do. They are both deeply curious people. They play soccer for their school but Kami thinks they are going to grow up and run track.

Friends:

Pretty much the same as Makayla.

Tyler Reigns:

Tyler is like the older brother Makayla never had. Even though he's only one year older you'd swear he was many years older due to his knowledge.

Personality:

Tyler loves to read he gets teased about it with the others. His mom is big on education and had him talking before he was one and reading before he was two. Don't let his smarts fool you he is naturally funny and knows how to cheer anyone up and is very athletic. He puts others before himself. He makes sure everyone is good first before even knowing what he needs. Despite him not being the oldest in the house he stepped up as the male figure in the house after their parents divorced. He looks up to his mother due to her strength and courageous willpower. He uses basketball and working out as a outlet to get rid of his frustration. He'll take to a punching bag before he'll vent. He listens to others rather than speaking on his problems. He likes to make sure others feel very included no matter who they are.

Looks:

Tyler cares a lot about his looks. Growing up with two older sisters he learned a thing or two about fashion. When he's not wearing clothes ready to workout in he could be seen wearing baggy jeans and a cropped shirt that you can only tell is cropped when he lifts his arms and you can see his Calvin Klein underwear band and belt and chains and just a quick peak at his medium olive skin toned abs. He'll always been seen wearing a chain around his neck though and his apple watch. His sculpted face is shaped with his shoulder length dark brown curls he puts in a half up half down when he's playing.

The Reigns Family consist of Amelia Reigns (42), Sophia Reigns (23), Katrina Reigns(21) , Tyler Reigns(16), Christian Reigns(12), and Megan Monroe (9)

Amelia has had it rough when it comes to love ever since she was younger. She finally thought she found a good one until the Reigns kid's father turned out bad and left and a few years later she met Megan's father but he was no better. After Megan was born she promised her kids she'll stay single. Katrina told her mom she didn't need to throw away her happiness for them, they would be ok. She wants the best possible future for her kids.

Sophia & Katrina are the oldest and take care of their younger siblings. They both try and make sure Tyler isn't getting left out because he's the middle child. They Reigns household is filled with nothing but love despite the things they've been put through. They help Megan learn Spanish because that was how they were raised.

Christian is the youngest boy in the family. He loves video games and isn't the biggest fan when Tyler wants to play football or basketball at the park. Christian likes attention at home but hates it at school. He don't have many friends outside of the small group of gamers in this club at his middle school.

Megan is the youngest and even though they all aren't full blood they treat Megan as if she was. She is a sweet and quiet little girl. She just sits in her room and plays with her toys. She loves spending time with her older sisters and Tyler.

Marcus Miller:

Marcus is... around.

Personality:

Marcus' life has been filled with trouble and turmoil from the start. His childhood caused him to be distant and prefer to be by himself. It was Tyler that got him to even open up to the idea of him having friends. He wanted to spend his life alone fearing all people were bad like his dad. He's only ever opened up to the 5 others in the group and hates new people. By the time they got to high school he was less of a loner and more of a stoner. Marcus has always had a funny bone but it was suppressed by his dad at a young age and his friends found it. With them he is laughing and happy.. even though he'll never admit it. He loves all things creative painting, drawing, and music is the only place he feels he can truly express his feelings. Makayla always tells him how nice his works are. Once Marcus got to high school his dad felt he was old enough to leave. Now his father is still in his life but he leaves for his "business" for months then comes back for like a month and treats Marcus terrible then leaves again. With his father never being home Marcus' house it the perfect hangout. Marcus has to pay the bills when he leaves for months so he works at this small town restaurant called "ANDRE'S".

Looks:

You could probably guess Marcus isn't a fan of bright colors. He mainly wears black but he tries to stay away from the stereotypical emo vibe. He has a grungy style, He dresses very similar to Tyler but black or grey. He sometimes also will pop out wearing a white button up with a few buttons undone to show his tattoos and black pants with black boots. His hair is slightly curly and is medium length and stops right at the bottom of his ear. It's naturally black but he dyes it so its jet black. He's had his fair share of bold colors in middle school like red, blue, and platinum blonde. His jet black hair makes his brown eyes look even darker.

The Miller Family is just Marcus (15) and his dad Kenneth (Ken) (41)

Ken is pretty much a deadbeat only he does show up it's just better when he doesn't. Ken has always been into drugs he's usage only worsened when Marcus' mother Emily passed giving birth. Ken blamed Marcus for that and will for the rest of his life. Ken only cared for him because he knew Emily would. Marcus hates his father and has so much pent-up anger towards him. He also feels conflicted because he feels like he should love his dad but he doesn't.

Tyler is pretty much Marcus' ride or die but Marcus also likes to vent to Makayla he finds it easy.

Madison Moore:

Madi is a cheerleader at Rockview and has been since middle school.

Personality:

Current day Madi is still trying to break out of her old tendencies. She feels a sense of belonging with the group that she's never felt anywhere else. Madi is pretty much invisible at home which is why it so easy for her to get what she wants. Her whole life her parents threw money at her to shut her up. Of course Madi is bold and needs to be the center of the show. Madi has never known unconditional love and a part of her searches for that feeling. Her parents don't see her until they need her.

Looks:

Madi is pretty much barbie. She wears the color pink like it's her job. She also wears dresses and skirts like she's getting paid to. She loves a good heel moment and tries to get her cheer coach to let her wear them. if she isn't wearing pink then she's wearing blue, purple, or white nothing else. She wears a lot of makeup but she has a natural beauty only the group has seen. Her naturally blonde hair is cut into a bob and usually curled. her light skin and her blue eyes make her even more like barbie. She loves jewelry and believes no girl should be without at least one necklace they never take off. She's big on smells and needs to always smell like vanilla no matter where she is.

The Monroe Family is Mark Moore(39), Melissa Moore(37), and Madi Moore.(15)

Mark is the Mayor and only cares about the people of his town, money, and his public image. Things are not good at the Moore house but Mark insist they stay perfect for the public eye. Him being so into his work is why Melissa is done with him. Madi is done with her parents and their bickering. Mark spends most his time at the office and the Moore house is pretty much silent besides the quiet noise of people working in their house.

Melissa started off as a super materialist girl who married the mayor with tons of cash. She grew up though and realized she wants more than this. She is also a busy girl. She runs around all day in cute suits and heels, her makeup and hair always done. She is her husband's personal Pr, she makes sure the press around him and the family looks good. When she was little she wanted to be a journalist but somehow ended up marrying a rich guy and working for him. She is constantly running around doing interviews and press.

(I have been working on Broken since 2020 but I've been too scared to make it public because I never worked out the little things like dialog and whatnot but this challenges me to make an amazing show.. hopefully. My end goal and this is reaching for the stars but my end goals is for someone to see this show and maybe pick it up because I've planned multiple seasons and I'd think it was cool. Last thing The girl on the cover is not an accurate representation of Makayla, Makayla is designed to look similar to me.. but better lol)
