“Aint Nobody Running but You and Me Tonight
Boo
Just the thought of ghosts and dead people walking scares me to the core. A chilling look’ on the face of the dead is so alarming, and once you have seen it, you can not unsee it. That's a part of your conscious now.
My friend Beanie lives right next door to me. He was a lot older than me but was cool to hang out with. He was into that gory horror stuff and always looking for an easy way to make you pee in your pants.
Sometimes he acts kind of weird if you ask me. That another story. “When he frightens you, the satisfaction on his face is unusual. He will creep you out just looking at you. It's that grin, that stands up the hair on your neck.
…The soon-to-be track star has a bright future; At least that's what he thought. “Beanies, ideas of having real fun is scaring the heck out of just about anyone. He is something else.
The school track team loved having him because he was super fast and funny. He forever has the team laughing so hard, till their bellies ache. Definitely an odd dude mind fram
The excitement on his face to come over to either pull a prank on us or scare the living crap out of us, was the only thingA that made him thrive. Someone who's always grinning from ear to ear, when you see the smile, start counting your blessings he's up to no good. Beanie loved the scared look, on the face of the younger kids. ‘We suspected that he was definitely up to something no good, because the unsettling feelings usually start as soon as he is present.
The weekend was here, and we were all nervous as hell, because Beanie would always have a way to sneak up and scare the crap out of us. Never using the same scare twice but being terrified in different ways every single time was a nightmare in a nightmare.
His character was calm, cool, and collective, yet scary as hell. We all loved his humor, it was a pleasure to hear stale jokes now and again over peeing in your pants, all too often. Never expecting it to scare the living crap out of us every time, but it does.
Friday night was clean-up night at the church. Beanie and his sisters had to do the cleaning because it was part of their chores. Their father was responsible for the cleaning and organization of the church. Therefore, it was made clear that it was their responsibility.
Beanie asked for permission to take us along for the ride. ; said he wanted to help my mom out, and take us off her hands so she could relax. ; Terrific idea, she thought, “sure thing, be back by 10 p.m. That nervous feeling began to creep up. Oh, how I hated that feeling.
He came by and picked us up as it was pretty dark outside now, hard to see your hand in front of you. We all jumped in the back seat with plenty of room to spare. “Beanie drove this old car around town and was proud of that junk, it was a big old clunker. We buckled up, glanced at each other, and sighed, having no clue what the night would bring as we anticipated fear.
We braced ourselves as the car began to leave the house, unaware of what was in store for us tonight did keep us on alert. We were hoping that it wouldn’t be anything too wild, so even a fraction of scary would be just too much for me. We ended up on this wounding road, “it had many dead man's curves and was considered to be dangerous. Didn't help to be pitch black outside, and without the headlights, you can't see anything at all, dead smack in front of you., When living in the country, there is one rule before you take that route, make sure you know the road, as there are turns that will take you straight to the ravine.
The church was ahead in the view of the headlights. I thought it would shed a bit of relief, “arriving and going inside out of the dark. It's hard seeing anything out there, “unless the light is directly on it. The church was no exception at night, it sent chills down my spine, and that single dim light on the door was barely bright enough to see where to put the key. The church had no windows and you couldn't see inside from where the car is parked. Seeing the church after dark is creepier than, I would ever imagine.
Beanie and his sisters got out of the car and told us to wait in the car until they returned. “They got their cleaning supplies and went into the church.
We were so scared as we were all shaking like leaves on a tree, but nothing had even happened however, we knew it would.
We were shaking so fiercely that it caused the car to rock from side to side; That darkness was scarier than getting spooked by Beanie. “We connected our arms and made a vow that if anything happened to one, it had to get us all. “You could hear the squeaking springs as the car was old and rusty, “the sound was scary. “The more we shook, the scarier, it sounded.
Your eyes will adjust after being in the complete darkness for a while, you’d hope. You may not see the object before you, but your senses will help you determine that something is there. The squeaky noise stopped as we relaxed our nerves and stopped shaking so hard. We were still afraid but in a calm state.
It felt like hours, and only 30 minutes had passed.
Suddenly we heard a cracking noise from farther away and tried focusing our eyes to see what it was. My sister has that excellent vision but she couldn't see a thing tonight. The darkness was indeed the darkness.
Cleaning the church should have been done, by now, “It was three doing the cleaning, and the church was pretty small. “As soon as we eased back our fears, the car began to move, rocked back and forth with that eerie squeaking sound as before but, it was not us this time. “What is going on here? “Our worse fears had come to punish us. “We clinched together and at the same time started screaming at the top of our lungs.
We:hadn’t realized Beanie and his sisters had finished with the church and snook outside to put fear in us.
Beanie and his sisters pop from behind the car laughing at us so hard that we got mad as hell. They, took us there to scare the shit out of us and succeeded, and not only was it dangerously scary, but it was also darker than the darkest night. It was so dark, “there was no moon, no stars, no street lamps. It was hard to see anything.
When they finished packing up the car. I assumed we were headed home, “Beanie needed to taunt us more that night. The night was still young he had one trick left.
We headed out and thought we were on our way home, until he quickly stops, on this bridge, “It was the TommyTomm bridge, “We knew because they named the bridge after his drowning death.
TommyTomm drowned under that bridge twenty years earlier. “His ghost, they said, would appear if you park dead center of the bridge, stand in front of your car by yourself and say his name three times.“Then you wait one minute and get into the car, and he will appear.
Beanie is not afraid of anything. “He parked and got out of the car, went and stood in front and recited TommyTomm three times. He stayed there for one minute and got back into the car. After waiting 5 minutes, there was not a sound on that bridge which made it even creepier. “Beanie gets out of the car and stands in from of it, yelling out loud, you can't scare me, I'm too fast to get caught by a ghost anyhow. “ You will have to catch up to me, “it’ll be just us running up and down this bridge tonight. “At that moment, there was this weird feeling that came over me.
Still, no sign of TommyTomm but we were all extremely afraid.
We finally made it home that night, “however, before getting out of the car, “ I told Beanie one day he would get what was coming. He said only in my dreams.
It was hard to sleep as now we have another scary thought added to our consciousness thanks to our friend, Beanie. I thought to myself I hope he gets the worst scare of his life.
A few days go by, and Beanie has to be at school for early practice, he also has to stay later than usual, and Finding a ride wasn't that easy. He did manage to find one, “ but could not be, dropped off at the doorstep. He was dropped off a half-mile from the house. He had to jog the remainder of the way. He prepared his stuff to carry across his shoulder so that he could run and keep his hands free. He walked towards the direction of the house and thought he should take a dirt road he saw; only this wasn't just any dirt road. It was adjacent to the bridge where TommyTomm drowned.
He had not noticed how dark it had gotten and did not realize the dirt road had no lighting. “He decides to take it anyway. Thinking that it was a straight shot and much faster than going around. He couldn't see his hands in front of him he needed to hurry. He decided to run the whole way with his bag tucked around his neck. He started at a slow sprint that turned into a faster run as he got his momentum up. He was running and all of a sudden something touched his shoulder. He glanced over to see what or who it was that touched him and found himself staring directly in the eyes of a figure so dark it stood out from the darkness. The eyes that stared back into his were big and blank, “This was scarier than anything he had ever witnessed. Not one of his scary movies he'd seen, could top this night.
Beanie thought his mind was playing tricks on him. “Opening and closing his eyes at record speed did not change a thing. He was so scared he remembered saying nothing could scare him. “At that moment is when he realizes, that was not the case. His adrenaline exceeded the charts, his hair stood at attention, and he peed his pants. He tried to run faster, elbows high, knees in the air. How could he outrun something that floats? Suddenly, he got another tap on his shoulder, the clear voice said to him. Ain't, nobody, running but you and me tonight, huh?
