A Worthy Family

Part I

Dark psychedelic patterns moving in different colors of flowers and boxes- I am then in my living room yet my cat is in the midst of bouncing on the walls as if gravity has ceased to exist, I am now the one floating.

Woken up by the bright moonlight that had shown through her windows’ blinds, Aurora was angry and repulsed. She loved being in her Dream Land - It was the only place that would literally take her out of the cruel misunderstanding world and she could finally control everything - her continuing lucid-astral-dream. She glanced at the clock for she hated time; it was exactly 3:33 in the morning. She carefully placed the blinds back in order, put her sleeping mask back on and drifted peacefully back to sleep.

Aurora was born into a chaotic family of six. Mother, Father, big Brother, Twin Sister, and baby Brother. She had no good relationship with any of them except her twin, Fawn. Aurora was the “evil” twin; she always had a bad attitude. It was always her sister, Fawn, who threw the cloud over Aurora’s meanness - this angered Aurora- everything, angered Aurora. No one understood her except for her sister yet, she would refuse to give into the astral world, Fawn was scared of it, but if she tried she could be a part of it and they could unite to be a whole-body of serenity with her sister- Fawnora.

Aurora and Fawn were 20, Mother 45, Father 47, big brother Forest of 25 and baby brother Ashen of 18. They were all a big family in the dream home that could be confidently called a mansion in the dark forests of Connecticut, but you could always see the stars of Orion’s Belt. The house was an 8 bedroom, 4 bathrooms, with two stories with two kitchens. It became morning time; Mother and Father were having breakfast with Ashen - none of the big siblings in sight. Forest was ultimately working at the lumber factory while Aurora and Fawn were at their daily gym; all of this would happen at the same time around 7:00 in the morning every day.

“I had a dream last night,” said Aurora panting as she ran on the treadmill,

“Yeah you dream that every night,” Fawn said is a displeased voice as she continued to also run on the treadmill next to her. “Oh, well last night was different, I was FLOATING,”

“I know, you float every night,”

“Not all the times, just if I want to,” Aurora rolled her eyes and jumped off the treadmill to go and stretch. Surprised Fawn jumped off hers as well and followed, “Ok, Aurora, what did you dream of?”

“I’m not telling you, you should already know.” They continued their regular routine with the same melancholy tone to each other the rest of the day.

Part II

Both arrived home and it was a full house - once again – except today everyone had a weird sense, almost a sixth sense where everyone could hear everyone’s thoughts and know exactly what each other was thinking.

Ashen said abruptly, “STOP!”

“What’s your problem, Ash?? Don’t you feel it? Don’t you know what’s happening?” Aurora said abruptly back. “Just stop… I can’t handle this – I’m going to bed early.” Ashen took his jacket and went up the elevator to his bedroom.

The whole family looked at Aurora with the most evil and glaring look, “I know you all feel it too. Ashen just can’t handle it. I think I’m gonna go to bed.” Aurora left and Fawn followed.

“This family is so crazy! Mom, Dad, I don’t know what I’m feeling but it’s weird,” Forest looked deeply into the eyes of Mother and Father and they became blank.

“MOM! DAD! Don’t get catatonic on me now, I need you!” Forest forbid to let a coupled tear out, but he left the room also; Forest knew something was happening.

The siblings’ Mother and Father had a weird condition where they would occasionally slip into a momentary coma, this started ever since Forest turned 16.

“Father, it’s time to go to bed honey,” Mother was in a dazed state, she stood up next to Father behind the chair and waited until he came back. A few minutes later Father came back and said, “Ok sweetie lets go to bed,” they went down the long hallway to their bedroom.

Part III

Fawn and Aurora slept on the second floor in separate beds.

I am in a cold metal box... Where am I? Who am I? Fawn!! Fawn!!! CAN YOU HEAR ME!!!! I think I am lost - I shouldn’t have gone towards the light – Why now can I not speak?? Who ARE YOU? –HORRIDLY SCREAMS ON THE TOP OF HER LUNGS- Uggh! No! Stooooooop! –A LONG METAL ROD IS STUCK THROUGH HER LOWER OPENING - Oh my god, I can feel it through my stomach...  To my chest and up to my throat- YOU ARE KILLING ME!!! Oh my god, God please help me, make this, stooooooop!!!!

Aurora wakes up sweating in her bed with the whole family surrounding her;

“Where is she?? Why can’t I feel her anymore?? Oh, why would You take her from me??” Fawn is crying and sobbing this as she beat on Aurora’s bedside. Mother and Father are in a catatonic state once again, in the door way, standing side by side as if they were robots.

“ARORA COME BACK!!!” screams Forest and Ashen in unison, all of the family is sobbing except for Mother and Father who have been catatonic for several minutes now, longer than ever before.

I’m here!!!! I am HERE!!!!! Why can’t you see me??? Please stop crying I AM HERE!

Suddenly the whole twins’ bedroom is filled with a yellow, greenish bright light, brighter than any man made light could make.  Everyone in the family is catatonic at this moment.

Fawn finally screams, on the top of her lungs when she sees Aurora as she throws herself on top of her twin as if trying to put her into a whole, Fawnora. Aurora is in such shock she doesn’t have the muscle in her to wrap her arms around the twin; she is staring at everyone with her mouth hanging wide.

“Are you ok?” Forest and Ashen say this in unison as they look scared into the eyes of their sister. “Aurora, say something to me girl, we need to know you’re ok!” screams Fawn.

Everyone is looking at Aurora; Mother and Father still in the catatonic state- there is a moment’s silence.

“……I …I, I…… think was stuck. I think….. I was raped. ”

Mother and Father finally came out of their state and rush toward Aurora on both of her sides. “What did you see, girl?” They both say in unison.

“I need to be alone… I need to meditate… I need to think about this.” Mother and Father put a gentle touch on Aurora’s leg,

“GET OUT!!!” Aurora yelled, everyone left the room as if a piranha had occupied the tank which belonged to the twins. Fawn stayed. Fawn looked into the eyes of Aurora’s but she looked blank.

Fawn sat on her own bed, laid on her side, staring at Aurora. Twenty minutes later Aurora said, “I saw, a man. I thought I was dreaming, I was going into my usual astral place, but then there was a man waiting for me. When I astral travel no one can see me but he looked into my soul. At the moment he looked into my eyes I was in a cold box, I couldn’t move and eventually I couldn’t talk but only scream. What happened to me Fawn?? I am scared. I don’t want to go back to sleep, I don’t know how I feel. I feel….. flat-lined.”

Fawn had a deep silence but then she said curiously, “What is that?”

“What is what?? Tell me! Don’t just say that!”

“Your forehead... underneath your hairline…” Fawn got into Aurora’s bed and slightly moved her hair out of her face and touched, “Can you even feel that?”

“Feel what? What are you talking about?? What do you see?”

“It looks like a square piece of metal, you seriously can’t feel that?”

Aurora touched the area Fawn was complaining about and felt a hard cold square on her head.

“I don’t know Fawn… This might sound crazy, but someone, something, kidnapped me…. They were intelligent, they were cold but they were not human. They were grey and they were tall. They wouldn’t talk but I remember they stuck something into me and pierced me from the downside up and inside out. They told me ‘The end is coming. Do not take anything for granted, use our knowledge to your advantage and try to save as much as you can.’”

There was another long shared silence, “I want you to take me there,” Fawn said in a monotone voice.

“I didn’t do this to myself; I didn’t want this to happen. I feel like my spirit had been taken and I am only a cold flesh with a lost soul…”

“You are me and I am you, I can finally feel your body like mine, again. I have always felt you but now I feel like I need to accept it. I am so sorry for everything I doubted you on, it is not relevant anymore.”

Another shared silence but this time for about an hour. Aurora and Fawn were now connected again like they were when they were just children, hip to hip.

Part IV

They walked down the upstairs hall, down the massive flight of stairs and made their way into the humongous living room. Fawn turned the T.V. on and they stayed up until the average 7:00. By 6:00 Forest woke up and found the twins sitting on the couch.

“Aurora, I love you, but are you ok?”

“I’m not dead; don’t worry about it, Forest. I’ll tell you what happened when the times right.”

Forest went up to Aurora and hugged her tight, she somberly hugged back.

About a half an hour later Ashen came down and eerily sat on the couch next to his sisters, he turned toward them and said, “Aurora… you can’t ignore what happened. I know you know what happened. I don’t think I want to know but I feel so lost right now. Mom and Dad won’t wake up, Mom said they’ll be down in a minute but she didn’t even open her eyes. I’m scared Aurora, what am I supposed to do? Why can’t we just all be together right now?? Something insane happened last night, I know I’m not crazy! I did not imagine that! You were gone for hours! Disappeared! We thought you’ve been killed!”

“Calm down, Ash. I will tell you what happened tonight just try and relax...”

“But……”

“Just stop and do your daily thing, we will all talk about it tonight, all together.”

Ashen stormed out of the room and then out of the house; Fawn and Aurora stayed sitting on the couch and continued to watch T.V.

It turned about 7:00 PM and Forest entered the house, 7:20 Ashen came home and by 7:30 Mother and Father both finally came out of their room and everyone was sitting on the living room couches, somber, weary, confused yet relaxed.

“Let’s watch the news,” said Aurora. No one said a word but they all watched the regular 8:00 news. They tried to continue their regular routine and ate dinner at 9:00, quite happily with each other. After, they all watched movies and television shows together for quite a while, for no one wanted to leave each other’s side.

Part V

Later Fawn looked at the clock and it read 3:33 AM, suddenly a drill blared on the television louder than ever before, “This is not a drill. This is the United States Government speaking to you directly and we are now informing you of an immediate invasion of the Soviet and Japanese Nuclear bombs about to enter our airspace. Take cover to the nearest underground bunker and put yourself into a safe place. God Bless America and its entire people.”

Everyone’s hearts were beating a thousand beats per minute and their faces were red with fear.

“I knew this was going to happen, they told me, we have to go into the forest! I know a place we can go to be safe.”

Mother and Father immediately started to convulse while standing and then slammed on the floor where it actually shook the entire immaculate home.

Forest immediately went to their side but Aurora insisted, “Leave them Forest, they’ll be ok, they have the same thing as I do me.”

Aurora, Fawn, Ashen, and Forest ran out the door and scrambled outside.

“Where are you taking us Aurora??” everyone pleaded.

“Follow me as fast as you can!”

You could hear the loudest horn siren across the whole earth. This wasn’t just bombs but this was Armageddon. No horns or sirens can penetrate the slightest into this Families forest, it must be supernatural.

They all sprinted as fast as they could with Aurora far ahead. After miles and miles of running they all stopped to catch their breath, “Aurora, why couldn’t we just stay at home?” pleaded Ashen.

“Because, Ash, because……” Then it was silent for only a moment and then they saw in the distance two white lights floating way up into the sky that looked like it was coming from their mansion.

“Bye Mother, Bye Father, thank you for giving me life,” said Aurora and everyone stared into the distance.

Suddenly then, Forest, Ashen and Fawn all looked into the sky and said, “WHAT ARE THOSE?”

In addition to the large dark masses in the shape of humungous missiles hurdling straight towards them, came an even massive disk, a disk with red pulsating lights and the biggest bright dome on top.

“Here it is! We will be saved! Just believe in who you are!!” Aurora spread her arms out closed her eyes and turned her head up to the sky but her siblings just looked at her with such a puzzling look.

Fawn had the deep urge, a deep feeling of everlasting hope and walked toward her sister to wrap around her, astonishingly they started to dissipate but they finally became one, Fawnora.

Forest and Ashen were so amazed their jaws dropped and then watched the Fawnora rise into the sky to never be seen again, they thought. “I just can’t believe this is happening right now, Forest,”

“Give me a hug Ashen! Let us be one like Aurora and Fawn!” The brothers held onto each other and fell to the ground to a ball. The whistling sound of the bombs became closer and closer, louder and louder and then the huge pounding blast hit. After the first blast, a second happened, and another, and one more. There was then a complete dead silence. The brothers passed out.

They awoke several hours later when the sun rose, but instead of the beauty of a sunrise their sky was green. The earth had been contaminated and ruined.

“Ash?” then silence,

“Forest?” They slowly sat upright into a cris-cross and stared at each other.

“We should’ve been vaporized, Ash.”

They instinctually looked up to the sky and then descended Fawnora; One magnificently beautiful womanly Angel that completely resembled both their sisters.

“Do you want to stay or leave this place?” Fawnora said in a sweet deep voice.

“I want to leave!” said Ashen happily.

There was silence but Forest asked, “What will we become Aurora?”

“You will soon find out, this world is dead. God’s angles are coming to wipe the earth clean. If you stay you will be vaporized, unsaved, and ultimately die in the most vicious way possible,” Fawnora said this in the most serious tone.

“I’m scared. I don’t know what will happen; I don’t know what I want to happen. I want to be one with my true family again but I can’t believe the world is coming to an end, I’m scared!”

Ashen started to turn translucent and began to ascend to the sky; Fawnora and Ashen said in unison “Please Forest, nothing bad will happen if you just come with us. Please, join us. Just believe and you will come with us…”

Then, Forest lay on the ground and watched his siblings go into the sky. He cried but then realized he and his brother were being protected by a massive supernatural energy field that had protected them against the radiation. He closed his eyes and began to dissipate as the energy field fell.
