My father had a hollow look on his face. And mother was muttering to herself. But they seemed closer than they had before their trip.
I'd bought them a two week vacation in Barbados as a surprise, in the hopes that a trip together could help them see each other in a different way. They'd been fighting for years, but last christmas it went overboard, and they didn't speak to each other for a Aweek.
Now they were making their way towards me slowly. They were holding on to each other, but I didn't see a rekindled romance in their eyes. It was something else. They were hanging on each other like a pair of survivors.
What had happened?
