A Priceless Birthday Gift
Story about Kelly: Memories are more valuable than money!

Kelly was a wealthy Hollywood actress accustomed to a high-society lifestyle. She lived in a multimillion-dollar Beverly Hills mansion. She hired people to do things for her, such as a personal chef, an aerobics trainer, a gardener, a maid, and a masseuse. She went to great lengths to satisfy her wants and needs.
Kelly was a fantastic actress who had been nominated for several Golden Globes and Academy Awards. She appeared to have everything she desired.
Despite the fact that she lost her mother at a young age, she had a loving father and sister. Her father ensured that both of his daughters received an excellent education. He was also very supportive of their career changes. Kelly had always wished to be an actress. Sarah, her sister, had always wanted to be a scientist.
Sarah drove from her job at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory to her sister's house.
Kelly's birthday had arrived, and she had invited dozens of celebrities, ranging from actors to musicians. Each guest took turns lavishly gifting Kelly with gold-plated picture frames, modern expensive artwork, and Hong Kong items. It was time for Kelly's sister, Sarah, to give her a birthday present. Kelly was given a brand new photo album. "A photo album, Sarah?" Kelly joked. Do you have any idea how many photo albums I have? I don't have enough photographs to fill all of my photo albums."
Sarah was aware of her sister's sarcastic wit and took the remark in stride. "Open the album, sister," she finally said. "But-" "Open the album, Kelly," Sarah said emphatically.
Kelly took out the photo album. Many photos showed an attractive woman and a handsome man in their mid-thirties standing next to two girls. Both girls appeared to be under the age of ten.
Kelly's mouth gradually began to open wide, as if she had been transformed on the spot. She began to cry as tears of love streamed down her cheeks. She spent several minutes staring at the first page of pictures. "It's Mom," she finally said softly. As she turned the page, she couldn't say anything else for a few minutes. The room was deafeningly quiet. The following page featured photographs of her mother, father, Sarah, and her at the Grand Canyon. "Our last trip together," Kelly added softly.
She couldn't stop the tears, which were now falling like Niagara Falls. People in the room began to cry as well. Most of them were aware that Kelly had lost her mother when she was a child.
"Can you tell me where you got these?" Kelly inquired of Sarah. "These are absolutely invaluable." "Dad discovered them in the attic. I felt the same way you did. I had many of the photos restored and duplicated using Photoshop. I felt compelled to create an album for you and me. "It's the least I could do for Mom," Sarah exclaimed. "Do you remember the Colorado River hike?" Kelly inquired of Sarah. "She was furious when we went swimming in the river." Both sisters exchanged hugs.
Sarah was crying just as hard as Kelly. The tears shed by both sisters were tears of embrace and loyalty. They both adored each other.
"Sarah, this is the best birthday present anyone could ever give me," Kelly said after about an hour of reminiscing with each other and the guests who surrounded them. Thank you very much."
Our memories shape who we are, what drives us to make the decisions we do, act the way we do, and love the way we love. We would be nothing without our memories. Memories help us manage the past, improve the present, and provide continuity and meaning for the future.
