A Meeting On The Timeline
An Example Piece For My January Dollar Prompt (Drops on January 1st 2025)
Introduction
This is just an example piece for my forthcoming prompt and challenge in January 2025. I hope you enjoy it.
This is the Challenge in case you are interested:
A Meeting On The Timeline
Two are walking toward each other on a foggy path.
What they are unaware of is that they are walking the line of time. They are in a dream world but they do not know it.
They can only walk forward and will pass each other after they have conversed.
They meet and speak.
A: "I can see where you have been, and I know that is my future. I see you had riches and success, and I see that will be my future when we part."
B: "I see you have come from difficult times, you lost everything, must that be my fate?"
A: "That is what we are being shown, it is the path that destiny has decided for us"
B: "Bit can we not change the path, I could turn round and reclaim my fortune"
A: "On this path, we can only move forward, and failure and poverty are what you must accept. It will not be like that forever, I have travelled this path many times and sometimes it shows me success and others it shows me failure, but remember, when we fail we can learn, and those lessons can show us success. You will meet another one day and they will take your place"
B: "I refuse to entertain failure"
A: "The choice is not yours, you must work though it, learn your lessons and then you will come back to this timeline"
They passed through each other and were now aware of their fates, but they had been prepared.
One day they would wander the timeline in their dream and meet another and the the other's past would be their future, whatever that may be...

A Warm Touch
When you are touched mentally or physically by warmth it makes your heart flutter and soothes your soul. It may be an empath showing love and caring for you or hugging you when you are cold. It could be the feel of the water running over your body in a warm shower, you never want that to stop do you? It may be a text, a letter or a phone call, telling you that you are loved and cared for. All these can give your heart and soul a lift. Being together with a friend or lover in the warm when it is cold outside. When they take away the pressure of life and all you have to do is appreciate the good things, and they make you realise that there really are many of those, even though they are different for all people. It can be lying in a warm bed, being tucked in, and told that you are cared for and loved. Because you all are by me.

The Last Message I Never Sen
I typed the message three times before deleting it for good. Each version sounded wrong in a different way. Too dramatic. Too casual. Too late. I stared at the blinking cursor like it was waiting for me to say something brave, but all I could offer was silence.

The loom of time redefined. the concept of paying the fate forward is interesting,
Interesting tale⦠no experience is wasted, whether good or bad.
I love the way you challenge thinking Mike. always asking the reader to consider thoughts and actions in a different light.
