It's been a long time since I've seen Jeff and I remember him as always good for a laugh. He's walking towards me in the street and I greet him with a "Hello, Jeff!"
He looks at me curiously. He doesn't know who I am. He doesn't speak.
"It's me. Robert. Remember? From school?"
Gradually, I see the realisation cross his face. The emotions that show? None of them speak of being pleased to see me.
He stares at me and then says, "I remember."
And just like that, he walks on and I hear him muttering, "Twat."
How rude!

Hahaha! Poor Jeff - he's one of those who never grew up.
Jeff is everywhere! Even in stories not inspired by Op Art. This one reminds me of my 50 year high school reunion. One of the guys that picked on me in high school was there, so I called him by name and said hi. He looked briefly at my high school picture (we were wearing them so we could recognize one another) and told me he did not remember me. I damn near laughed out loud! Who knows, maybe he didn’t remember me. I said it before, Rachel, but your slice of life writing is very convincing!
haha. Jeff does seem to be a bit of twat, from all I've seen written about him. 😉
Hahahaha! This was realistic but also had my favour bit of "Rachel- whimsy"!! Great little microfiction, Rachel!!
Haha! How refreshingly honest! Better than fake smiling for sure! Love this one Rachel.
How true… high school grudges hold for a long time
Oh no. Let’s hope I don’t run into acquaintances like that!
Oh dear! I know a delightful Jeff😃.
Hahahaaa! I hope he is not in my house, that's a bit creepy. Fun read!
Maybe he is the same Jeff from Raymond's unofficial challenge, lol. Loved this!
