Yakisoba Venison Stir-Fry by Amanda Payne

Yakisoba Venison Stir-Fry is a quick and healthy teriyaki flavored meal. It is made with cube steak, broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, and Yakisoba noodles.

I used venison steaks for this recipe, but you can use beef, chicken, turkey, or whatever you have on hand. You can even use a mixture of meats or omit the meat altogether and have a meatless meal.

This recipe is done within 9 minutes and is low in calories! It is the perfect meal for when you are in a hurry but want to eat healthily. It is so much better than fast food!

Yakisoba Venison Stir-Fry Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 venison cube steaks (or any other steak) cut into strips
  • 2 cups of buttermilk
  • 1 pack of Fortune Yakisoba Stir Fry Noodles, Teriyaki Flavor (7.7 ounces)
  • 12 ounces of Pinnacle Foods Birds Eye California Blend frozen veggies (broccoli, carrots, and cauliflower)
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 2 tablespoons of butter (salted or unsalted)
  • 1 tablespoon of oil for frying
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper to taste

Getting It Done:

  1. Soak the venison cube steaks in buttermilk for at least an hour, but you can refrigerate it overnight.
  2. Remove the steaks from the buttermilk and sprinkle them with salt and ground black pepper.
  3. Heat a non-stick frying pan to medium-high heat. Add a tablespoon of oil if desired. Fry the steaks for a couple of minutes on each side or until done to your liking. Let the steaks rest until ready to use.
  4. Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a frying pan and add the frozen veggies. Stir-fry the veggies until done, which should take about 1-2 minutes.
  5. Puncture the noodle package and heat it in the microwave for 1 minute. Then rinse it under hot water.
  6. Add the noodles, 1/2 cup of water, and the sauce pack (included with the noodles) to the veggies and stir-fry for another 2 minutes.
  7. Slice the steaks to your desired preference. Stack it on top of the stir-fry and serve.

If you want to change it up and make it your own, you could add more veggies or maybe, a different variety of veggies. This recipe is really good with onions and mushrooms or a mixture of green, red, orange, and yellow bell peppers. You could also add some cheese.

After soaking the steaks in buttermilk, they may lose some of the beautiful red and turn sort of brownish. This is perfectly okay and still delicious. The buttermilk helps to tenderize the meat, and some say it helps to remove the wild game taste if using venison.
