The List:-
Katori Chat- It is a traditional Indian dish. Small or medium-sized basket kind of shape if made using grated fried potatoes. Once shaped and prepared, the baskets are filled with various chaat. Curd or dahi acts as the base to blend all the flavours, and the katori is then filled with potatoes, chickpeas, onion, tomatoes and finally topped with different chutneys.
Thalipeeth- Thalipeeth is a Marathi pancake-like bread prepared with a base of Bhajani multi-grain flour, while spices such as cumin, chilies, coriander, turmeric, and onions are added to the mix, making the dish slightly hot and spicy in the process. Thalipeeth is commonly served for breakfast with butter, yogurt, or curd, and it is characterized by a hole in the center.
Malpua- Malpua is a sweet Indian version of pancake popular in West Bengal, Bihar and Orissa. It is made by deep-frying a batter of rice flour, thickened milk, and often cardamom is added. They are mostly prepared for occasions such as Holi or Ramadan and are savoured in winter. Diabetic people should really stay away from this because after fried it is dipped in a sugar syrup before serving. Nowadays variations to the original recipe are also experimented using flavors such as mangoes, pineapples, or mashed bananas.
Kozhukkatta- Kozhukkatta are basically steamed Indian rice flour dumplings filled with jaggery and coconut. They are usually served for breakfast, or consumed as a snack, when they are accompanied by tea on the side. In some cases, cooks like to add cardamom or ghee to the filling.
Dahi Puri- The first item on the list that is popular throughout the country. Originally, hailing from Maharashtra, basically the common puri shell that is hollowed out, then stuffed with potatoes, chaat masala, onions, and a variety of chutneys. The final touch comes from the dahi or yogurt that is added to give it an exquisite taste. This dish is a variation of the popular Indian street snack called panipuri, and it derives its name from the words dahi, meaning thick yogurt, and puri, which is a round, crispy-fried, and puffy Indian bread.
Aloo Chat- it is the most popular street food dish that finds its origins in the by lanes of Old Delhi but is now popular all across the country. First potatoes are cut into small pieces and fried with spices. Then it is topped with spices and chutneys, chopped onions, fresh coriander and lemon juice put together for a tangy dose of ride.
Dal ki Kachori- These are a kind of flat bread but are flaky and tastier. The kachoris made with spiced moong lentil stuffing, is what makes these dal kachoris special. They are deep fried breads essentially and you can find a lot of varieties in the Indian cuisine but moong dal kachori is the most popular one.
Banana chips- Dried slices of bananas are deep-fried and then covered with sugar or honey and have a sweet taste, or they can be fried in oil and spices and have a salty or spicy taste.
Ganthiya- Ganthiya, originated in Gujarat and is quite popular across India. It is a deep-fried snack made from chickpea flour. Unlike most other Indian snacks, ganthiya is not crunchy, but soft and puffy. The snack is distributed by people to one another on occasions such as Diwali and Holi.
Papri chaat- Papri chaat basically consists of deep-fried wafers called papri topped with tamarind and mint chutney, chickpeas, potatoes, and yogurt. The ingredients are layered, and the dish is usually sprinkled with sev which are basically fried chickpea noodles and ‘chaat masala’ consisting of spices such as cumin, coriander, dried mango and ginger, as well as chili, asafoetida, and black pepper.
Litti Chokha- This Indian specialty hails from Bihar, but it is also enjoyed in Jharkhand. One part of the dish consists of litti which are small puffy balls made with whole wheat flour and filled with a combination of spices and sattu. The balls are baked or fried, and before serving, they are traditionally dipped in ghee. The dish is completed with choka which is a mix of roasted vegetables consisting of eggplants, tomatoes, onions, and sprinkled with various spices.
