End of a beginning

It was a late Sunday afternoon in Willow Creek, Fall was upon the little town, as all the leaves was falling off the trees and winter slowly creeping closer. Down the street of Dragonfly Dr lived the Dawson family. Down the main hall in the house where they lived was a 10-year-old boy named Dylan sitting in the hallway near his mother’s room. They told him to wait in there while the doctor was busy inside the main room of the house where his mother Rose was laying sick on the bed. She has been diagnosed with late-stage leukemia a few months ago and ever since they found out she had leukemia it was hard on their family. Rose was everything to Dylan, she was the kindest loving mother and she always loved to bake cookies for Dylan school. She always told Dylan to follow his dreams and that he must believe in himself. “Dylan “The house butler called to him softly, Dylan looked up and wiped the tears of his cold soar cheeks, Victor joins him on the couch, “Is my mommy going to be okay Dylan asked to Victor, Victor left a heavy sigh and looked down to him, he could see the boy was terrified and his eyes were flowing with tears. “I don’t know, “said Victor.

Dylan looked down to the floor when he overheard people snicking and crying, he then looked up to Victor then jumped off from where he was sitting and ran up to the main room .As he came to the door he went to his knees and looked under the door frame, he saw his father Jason kneeled next to the bed were his mother was laying on the bed. Something was very different from his mother; she wasn’t moving like she was in deep sleep. Dylan opened the door and stood closer, his father looked at him with eyes full of tears “Dylan “his father called to him with a broken voice, Dylan’s heart almost stopped when he realizes that his mother wasn’t sleeping, and she was dead. Her skin was pale, the color of her warm cheeks was gone, and she wasn’t breathing. Dylan gasps and he struggles to breath, tears flow down on his cheek’s pale cheeks. His mother was gone, and he realizes “I didn’t even say goodbye “the words slipped out of his mouth.

Jason his father stands up from next to the bed and walked up to Dylan, he folds his arms around Dylan and pull him closer to him. Only for a few minutes while his father was holding him, he started to feel suffocated, he threw his father arms away from him and storms out the room like a gust of wind. “Dylan” his father called to him and wanted to go after him, but Victor stopped him. “Let me go and talk to him Sir “said Victor and he left the room. Jason wipes the tears of his face and turned his head, he looked back at his wife Rose, he then stood there, he can’t believe the love of his life was gone.

Somewhere outside the house in the lovely garden of the Dawson house under the large tree there was a swing and was Dylan’s favorite place. When he struggled with his homework or is studying for a spelling test his mother would always swing him there and he would spell the words to her.

“I knew I will find you here “a familiar voice called to Dylan. Dylan looked to his side and saw his friend and butler Taylor. “I didn’t get to say goodbye “said Dylan and got up from the swing and went to go sit next to Taylor on the grass. “I am sorry buddy “Taylor comforted him and pulled him closer to him then gave him a big hug. He didn’t know what to do at that moment and was feeling hopeless.

“She is gone, and I miss her already “said Dylan, his voice was soft and broken. His mother was a big part of his life, and he wasn’t ready to say goodbye to her yet.

The grieve will get better but the mis will always be there. Jason found his son and Taylor on the grass outside. He kneeled next to Dylan on the grass and pulled him closer to him and held him closer and said “I am sorry son “with soft and gentle voice.

Dylan could feel his father tears on his cheeks as he holds him. they both have a deep pain and grieve inside them; they only have each other now. “I miss her already “said Dylan through his tears. He misses his mother, it felt too unreal that she was gone.

Later that night Jason was in Dylan’s bedroom sitting next to him on his bed. “I have something for you “His father gave him a letter with his name on it. Dylan looked at his father shocked then saw his name was on top of the letter. He opened the letter, and he started to read it slowly.

“Dear Dylan

By the time that you will be reading this, mommy will not be there with you anymore. I wanted you to remember the good times we spent together and those will always be our precious memories. I will always be there with you in your heart, wherever you go I will always be there in your memories .I want you to remember that you need to be brave and strong and take that and build on it through life .Remember you will always be my son and I love you so much .Do not cry if you read this, be joyful ,because one day we will be together again. Mommy leaves you with the most precious thing that matters to me most.

I want you to have my wedding ring, and you hold on to it until you find that one special person who will complete your life. In my heart I know you will find that one special person just like me and your father. But first go live your life, go write a story that you can tell your grandchildren one day. Never hold back and I will be with you every step of the way of your life.

“Mommy loves you always “Dylan reads it with a heavy heart. He wipes the tears off his cheeks then reads the last few words.

“Until we meet again “

He shook the envelope upside down; two silver rings fell into his hand. It was his mother engagement and wedding rings. Dylan folds the letter and place it back into the envelope. His father Jason pulls his son closer and hold him close so that he can cry if he wants to. He just wants him to know that he not alone at this moment, he is there with him and grieving with him. The pain and loss were unbearable and only time will heal itself. For now, they only have each other and must stay together. Jason stayed all night in Dylan’s room so that he can hold his son and be there for him. Because he knows from now on life would be hard for them both. “I already miss her so much dad” said Dylan through his tears. Jason held his son more closer “me too “said Jason with heavy heart ,he couldn’t help, his tears started coming down his face and Jason held his son as tight he could and felt like a will never let him go at that moment .His son was all what he have left from his wife .He will be his best as he can to raise their child and be there for him. Jason gave Dylan a soft kiss on his forehead then held him tighter.

Freshman year

On the 12 t Ava Road was there a house party. Before the house was Taylor and Dylan standing while all around them was young people streaming in and out of the house, the music was loud and pounding. Taylor looked too his friend Dylan. “Dude are you sure about this “Asked Dylan worried. Taylor folded his arms across his chest and started to smile back at his Dylan. “We are freshmen Football players and only way to make friends and get hot chicks is a place like this “

Dylan left out a sighed, well he had a good point. It sucks to be new in high school and don’t know anyone. Dylan looks at his friend and started to smile.

Lydia grab Dylan and Taylor by the wrist then drag them with her until they reach inside the house. It was loud and crowdy when they enter the house .Dylan never have bent in his life to a party like this before .His dad will kill him if he knew about it .All what his dad knows, was that he is sleeping the night over at Taylor house .They come to a big table ,around the table was seniors guys busy playing beer pong .Dylan looked confused at Lydia .He don’t know what game their where playing?

“What are they playing “Asked Dylan “Beer pong “Said Taylor next to Lydia. Dylan looked surprise at his friend. Where did he hear about beer pong? “Don’t worry “Said Taylor and wink at Lydia.

The crowd was Cheering at the seniors, and it looks like the guy from the other side of table was wining.

“Who is next? “Shout a senior out from the other side of the table. Lydia grabbed Dylan hand and pulled it up into the air. He pulled his arm down as fast he can, but it was too late. Dylan looked at Lydia, he hated her for that. “You over there “Called the senior out. The room went quiet. All the kids in the room split and looked at Dylan and Taylor “Oh dam,” said Taylor.

Lydia eyes shows too Dylan go on. He looked at Taylor who held his shoulders up and smile bright, he was all game to play this. Taylor walked up to the table.

“let’s do this!” Yelled the senior. Music starts to play again. Dylan looked Panic at friend Taylor. “Dude what are we supposed to do? “Asked Dylan to his friend. “Fallow my lead “Promise Taylor him.

Taylor grabbed the cups and start to spread them out on the table while some seniors come around the table and poor beer into the cups. Dylan walked up to the table and go stand next to Taylor. He has no idea how to play the game. “let’s begin “Shouted the Senior out. Dylan takes a big breath in and out.

The seniors have the first shot and with their luck the ball falls perfect into the cup. Taylor gives Dylan a wink then he takes the ball, and it falls nicely in the cup off beer. Dylan was shocked by his friend; it was like Taylor knew what he was doing.

“You are lucky “the senior pointed at Taylor then grab the cup and down it all at once. The senior takes the ball and give it a kiss then throw the ball that it lands inside the cup.

It was Dylan turn to drink up. Dylan takes the cup and try to down all of it. He down all the beer and place it back on the table. “let’s do this “Shouted Dylan out. This was not that bad thought he and picked the ball up and throw it, the ball land corrects in the red cup.

“yes “yelled Dylan out of excited, Dylan taps his friend Taylor on the shoulder. The senior must drink up One of the seniors mist this time, it makes Taylor and Dylan just happier. It was Taylor turn. he picked up the ball and throw it perfectly inside the cup. The Senior must drink up again. “We got this “said Taylor confident.

He looked at the Seniors who from across the table, the way he can’t stand up straight any more means he was pretty much waisted already. They must keep playing, it will not be long any more than one of the seniors will be passed out. It was the senior turn to play, he gives his best shot and almost mis. Dylan drinks up, then Dylan takes the ball and throw it. The ball landed nicely into the cup. The senior must drink up. The senior tries to take his best shot and Taylor must drink up. It was Dylan turn to play and misses. They come down to round 8.

“Not too long now “whispered Taylor to Dylan, he winks back at his friend Dylan while putting his poker face on then picked the ball up from the table and started to throw the ball, it lands perfectly into the cup. The Senior must drink up, one senior was already waisted to throw the ball. He wanted to throw the ball then out of sudden he went backwards and falls. Everybody was shocked, the whole room went quiet for a moment. “We have a winner The freshman’s win “Shout one guy out and run up to Taylor and Dylan and grabbed them by the arm and held it up.

“Yeh” shouted Lydia and run up to Dylan and Taylor, she throws her arms around them and hugged them. “I knew I couldn’t doubt you two, “said Lydia while smiling big at her at them. Dylan looked shocked around the room. Not too bad for his first party in Freshman year. “I can’t believe we won “said Dylan out surprise. The crowd was cheering them on. They first night were already one of the best. Lydia Grabbed both by the arm and dragged them with her until they came outside of the house where a group was busy doing some body shots. Dylan looks around and saw a table outside with lots of servettes, he grabbed a hand full of the servettes. “Let me help you to clean It up “Asked Dylan nicely while holding the servette out to Mia. “It was my fault also; I didn’t see where I was going “Said Mia, while smiling back at Dylan.
