The story of my life

From the very beginning

By Gabrielle ChamaillardPublished 4 years ago 3 min read

It all started when my father George and my aunt Cathy meet in first year of Highschool. They were both loners, outcasts, didn't speak unless asked to. They both knew they weren't gonna make it through 5 years of Highschool without at least one friend. After a few weeks, they started talking.

At first, it was about classes, then it slowly become a bit more personal. They started hanging out more often at school, he encouraged her to confess to her crush (which didn't turn out well), she encouraged him to join a governmental program for the youth which was about a subject he really liked ever since he was young. Took him a couple years to join but it was worth it in the end.

Five years later, they were the best of friends you could ever ask for, but something was missing. That is until a newbie also joined the program, Viola. She was the same age as them, pretty similar interest and they thought about having her join the group. They approached her while on break during one of the training nights, making her feel welcomed, not only in the program, but in their lives because they weren't leaving until she knew she could count on them.

Soon enough, those three musketeers became closer and closer everyday and believe it or not, a sweet, beautiful romance came out of it. George and Viola started seeing each other without telling aunty Cathy, even tho she's the one who got them to confess their mutual feelings to one another. They've had their ups and downs, their good and bad moments just like any couples, but they always knew that they could count on each other (and on aunty Cathy, of course!).

After graduation and prom, they slowly lost contact. During those 3 and a half years that they did not talked, Dad moved into Mom's childhood home, where they currently still live with my grandparents and I. Aunty Cathy went on and moved out to live on her own. She got engaged to her boyfriend a little before it made 3 years that they were together. They've now been together for five years and engaged for two, but they still haven't made public, even to these days.

My parents went on and worked really hard. They didn't at the time, but they were pregnant with me. My grandma is the one that noticed that my mom's body changed a little. One pregnancy test and a doctor's appointment later, it was confirmed that I had waited 26 weeks before making myself known. Everyone was very surprised to say the least. It was giving them only 3 months to plan my arrival.

From the announcement to the baby shower and finally, to my birth, everything went so fast. Not only was I being born in a very loving family, but I also brought back a long time friendship back together. That's right! It brought Mom, Dad and aunty Cathy together. I may not remember this later on in life, but it's nice to know that the three musketeers are back together and stronger than ever.

It might not be easy, but I know that my parents are doing the best they can and no matter what I say in the future, I'll always love them and I will always be thankful for aunty Cathy being in my life and supporting them through all of it. I probably wouldn't be there if it weren't for her and my dad becoming friend ten years earlier.

If you'll excuse me, it's time for me to go back to being a regular baby and wake up my dad for some milk. Bye!
