The NYE When My Dog Ran Away
In 2007 on New Year's Eve, my dog ran away. I was coming home from an internship at Disney World. I was on a cross-country road trip with a friend to make my way back to Northwest Arkansas. My friend was another college intern. She lived in Kansas City. My parents planned to meet her family/caravan in Missouri, and they would take me the rest of the way to Mountain Home.

Fields Ablaze
The bonfire blazed as we roasted our hot dogs over the hot flames. Our dogs wagged their tails excitedly as they ran from one Fourth of July reveler to the next, and the fireworks exploded overhead in a myriad of colors. Across the road, on the other side of the barbed wire fence, one wayward rocket burst, instantly igniting the dry Texas grass in the pasture beyond.

Busting Balls

Why Do Some Families Repeat Older Generations Mistakes?
Families can be the best thing in your life when you're younger. How you cherish your mom and your dad. You want to spend every day with them. Do adult things if it means being by their side. As we get older we finally come into our own and pull away from being so attached.

Belinda finds a friend
Belinda had wandered too far. The campsite was somewhere behind her and the sunset loomed ahead. She was tired. The toad she was chasing had long disappeared, the noise of her family had faded away. The only human voice she could hear was the echo of her mom reminding her big brother Todd.. "Don't go too far!" Belinda was now learning what mom meant by those words. Her three years old heart was racing. Her toddler mind was frantic. Running, lost, dark, cold, Mommy, where... what?
