Some pop-culture families incite envy with their picture-perfection, while others make you acutely grateful for the one you're stuck with.

Powhatan's 12th Great Grand Son

My first Paint and Sip
My daughter invited me to a Paint and Sip brunch as my Mother's Day gift. This is the first time I had been to such an event. I have been seeing posts on Facebook for several years of couples who have gone to evening painting events but I never had an interest. I'm not much of a drinker so I did not understand why there was such a big deal about sipping a mimosa. I had one that was pineapple and mango and as usual, I did not feel a thing. I also had a large waffle with butter and syrup which was really delicious.

Alyssa From the Ocean
Seven-year-old Alyssa runs energetically across the beach feeling a cool breeze through her waist-length blonde hair and the hot sun on her fair skin. Her blue eyes look down the beach to see the woman with the same hair and eyes lounging in the sun. That is her mother and Alyssa runs towards her giggling. Her mother greets her with a smile as she brushes the sand off her dark purple fishtail.
