My daughter was three months old when I finally decided to leave. But I was six months pregnant when I was planning to. I finished some college and was bartending, but I decided to move in with him and became pregnant. I was eight weeks pregnant and landed a job as a server. This was helpful to me; nobody else wanted to hire someone who was pregnant. I was so grateful. I still am.

Mean Mommy
I'm a single mom. I hate saying that. There are so many stereotypes that come with saying that. My three favorite questions are: "Do you know who the father is?" Nope, I'm a gigantic whore and have no idea who her father is. "Do you get a lot for child support?" Yeah, I get $800,000,000,000 a month. I got knocked up by Bill Gates. And my absolute favorite question: "Does it hurt that she looks like him?" This one I'll answer honestly instead of sarcastically; no, it doesn't hurt. It used to. But now, those features mean something different to me. I don't see his smile when I look at her, I just see my daughter smiling up at me. She took bad memories and made amazing new ones. For that, I can never repay her.

First things first Freya, you need to learn that life isn’t fair and you need to deal with it. The sooner you learn to deal with it, the sooner you will be happy. Okay, yeah, that is bollocks. Yeah, life is unfair but there are things that can be done to help reduce the level of unfairness! You need to look at it like this, it’s all about comparison. There may be others who are better off than you but there are others who are a lot worse off. Like today, Sam was at work and you were at home with Jaime, fair enough, that’s how things are and you wouldn’t have it any other way. You love spending time with her! You are so lucky to get all this time with her. Mothers in America go back to work so soon after having a baby. I’m sure so many of them would do anything to stay at home with their babies but they can’t afford it.

Teen Mom: The Resulting Child
Most everyone you talk to will have some friction with a parent or relative. Maybe this is because of a wrongdoing from childhood, be it unkind words, physical abuse, neglect, or any number of traumas that often come with raising another human being. While the severity can differ it can be hard to find closure or acceptance of yourself when you have been wronged by someone meant to love and protect you from the harshness of the world. I've found myself recently struggling with the strained and essentially nonexistent relationship I've had with my mother. I understand that my experience isn't the worst by far, but I hope to share some of the insights I've gained.
