As a child, I was accepted into a modeling school and agency, as well as a beauty pageant. This was back in the early 90's. So, basically a long time ago. According to my mother, I hated it. When I hit puberty, I developed an endocrine imbalance. We all know when a woman has this issue, one of the most common side-effects is weight gain. For most of my teenage and young adult life, I was ostracized and criticized by people and doctors for being fat. My first husband even berated me for it in a very long, very emotionally abusive relationship.
