Losing a family member is one of the most traumatic life events; Families must support one another to endure the five stages of grief and get through it together.
Resetting the Password of Life: A Daughter's Journey to Remembering Her Mother
It was a cold, dark night when Gwen received the call that would change her life forever. Her mother, who had been battling cancer for the past year, had passed away peacefully in her sleep. Gwen felt a sense of numbness wash over her as she tried to process the news. She knew that her mother had been suffering, but she could not bring herself to accept that she was truly gone.

How to Deal With the Pain of Finding Out a Loved One is Dying
My senior year of high school was an eventful one in many ways. Not only was I going through the steps of selecting the college I wanted to go to, applying, waiting to find out if I’d been accepted, and getting ready to go to college, all while going through my last year of high school, I was also dealing with some stressful things at home.

I don't want to see my in-laws anymore
Once upon a time, there was a young couple named Jack and Jill. They had been in love for years and had finally decided to get married. They were both excited to start their new life together and couldn't wait to see what the future held.

Bittersweet Sympathy
I personally don’t much care for the current media obsession with Harry and Meghan, especially when newspapers will side-line incredibly important coverage of the ongoing NHS crisis in favour of extracts from the former’s recently published autobiography. I don’t hate them. I don’t love them. I just don’t care. But whatever you think of this couple, one thing you cannot deny is that Prince Harry is a man who lost his mother at a very young age and had to grieve for a woman he loved dearly while the whole population and tabloid media, many of whom had probably never even met her, broadcasted the same level of grief all over the world. If anyone hasn’t seen Stewart Lee’s routine about the lunacy of the reaction to Diana’s death, it sums it up very nicely (link below).

We Only Talk Of Death
Lately, we only talk of death. Its uncomfortable and I always want to be exactly where the conversation isn't. My mind wanders and I think about a movie that I liked watching the other day. I liked how the main character smiled and said the word "Frosting".

Innocence Lost, Paradise Pending
I love eating sweets during the holidays. I’m a sucker for things like toffee and chocolate with peppermint, and my mom was too. For our Christmases, she would bake a variation of a cereal bar that she covered in chocolate and butterscotch and was certainly all too good. I had almost forgotten about it entirely until my aunt made it again this year. We called it Special K candy. The moniker didn’t age well; but, I don’t come from a family of drug users, so I’m assuming the Special K reference may have been over their heads at its inception.

Hospice Came Today. Top Story - April 2023.
My mom dedicated her life to her children. She took care of us. GOOD care of us. All while battling her own demons. She is kind-hearted, loving, and funny. Christmases, Easter, and our birthdays always brought great gifts, above my parent’s means. And today, hospice came for her.
