The Stars among us
The loss of a child is heartbreaking. I know so many people that have lost in miscarriage and even though its common its still terrifying. Was my body not ready for a baby, is there something wrong with me. Even though it happens 15 out of every 100 pregnancies you still feel alone. Even though there are 14 other women out there that have lost a baby you still feel like its just you. I've been though two miscarriages' in my life but those didn't hurt me as much as the loss of my little Star. Unlike most I was able to hold her in my arms and watch as she made her first and last breath.

Teen Suicides and Suicide Pacts
1999, a small town 50 miles west of Atlanta, Georgia, a Central High School couple, Jeff Miller and Andrea Garrett made a suicide pact. Nobody but them knew why. One could speculate that like Romeo and Juliet, their love was frowned upon by their families. Miller was 17 and Garrett was 15, so age could have been a factor. However, there is no evidence to show that the two were having problems at home or in their relationship. The couple eventually died from .22 caliber gunshot wounds to the head. Police tried to determine who shot first, but came up empty.

The Beautiful Gift Of Life
I never really understood the beauty of being a woman before motherhood. How impeccable and admirable our strength is. What are bodies can handle and endure. The difficulties of life that we overcome day to day and still manage to be nurturers, and most times the peace and foundation that keep our families together.

The Good Old Days
The Good Old Days I miss those summer nights. Our group changed over time. At night, we played capture the flag, hide in seek, or sardines in the dark. We spent the day at the pool. We went to Stewart’s Shop and The Pizza Shop. I remember one time we had a storm. It was me, my friends: Blake, Heather. We ran through the storm to my house and spent the day there. We took Heather home because she was on the younger side. She got me in loads of trouble!

Tips to Fight Fair
Unfortunately, conflict is inevitable when you are raising teenage daughters (and even sons). You know in your heart that they are just trying to find their way in the world. It can be hard to find your way in high school while trying to figure out what you want to be when you grow up.

Potty-Training Tales
As soon as my bright, precocious, and happy one-year-old daughter had her first birthday party, I plopped her on the most deluxe potty-chair I could find. I was more than confident that her training would be a breeze. However, she had other plans. For the next few years, she clearly articulated precisely how she felt about my unrelenting efforts to get her toilet training completed.

The Big Bike
Imagine waking up on a beautiful summer day and your aunt tells you and your cousins we can't go outside until chores are completely done. As an eight year old, those are the worst words you can hear when you already hear your friends outside playing and riding their bikes preparing for a morning bike ride up the hill. Well after my cousins and I finished our chores 4 hours later, we were ready to hit the outdoors. Although we had already missed the earlier shenanigans' we still had the whole day to make up what we had missed. My cousin Des wanted to go on a bike ride up the hill since we had missed out on the earlier run. We all agreed to go but we had a problem, nobody wanted to ride the "Big Bike." You see every summer my aunt got her nieces and nephews over for the summer for two weeks after school let out. We had everything a kid needed to have to enjoy the summer-time. My aunt really went all out, she got bikes, roller skates, rollers blades, snacks, chocolate and strawberry milk, games ranged from video, board and active and snacks. Did I mention snacks? She took us camping, we were in a club and so much more. She really made it fun for us so my cousins and I really anticipated leaving home for the the 1st two weeks of summer. Back to the "Big Bike", my aunt had four bikes 3 regular size and one for the teens. "Last one to the backyard is a rotten egg," and of course I was last one and a rotten egg so I had no choice but to ride the "Big Bike." I was always little and short so everyone laughed because I had to ride "The Big Bike." Now everyone had already taken off but me. As I finally got on the bike, I realized the breaks were different from the other bikes. The brake pads were on the handle bars instead of pushing the paddles in the opposite direction. I have never rode this bike before I always tried my best to avoid it and had no clue to how to use the brakes. But nevermind that, I didn't care if anything I'll just use my shoes is, what I said to myself. I finally caught up to my cousins and we rode the hill just as we planned. We made our way to back to the neighborhood and rode the bikes a little more before we decided to do something else. "Come on now guys lets go to Amber's and D.A.'s house their coming outside now," is what my cousin yelled. As we were putting the bikes away , my little cousin came to me and asked could I ride her around before I head off with the others to go across the street, I agreed. Remember I didn't know how to stop the bike with the handle bar brake pad so I was using my feet to stop. The adults started to come outside and sit on the porch to watch us play. I was riding my little cousin around and while I turning around I notice one of the adults walking towards the sidewalk where I was riding my bike. I screamed,"Tina I don't know how to work the brakes move to the grass," she shouted back "WHAT!", I shouted I said, next thing I know I was flipping over the handle bars, my little cousin flew off to the grass and "The Big Bike" was underneath Tina's skirt. Everyone laughed, Tina than shouted, "Krysten why would you do me like that. I replied I tried to tell you.
