My birth story
A lot of women always talk about how they are afraid to give birth. I was the same way but my birth experience would have been fine if my OB and nurses would have done things differently. Let's start from the beginning. I went in for my 39 week appointment and they told me I needed to be induced that day because I had high blood pressure my past 3 appointments but I was never told I had high blood pressure in my past appointments so I wasn't even able to prepare to possibly be induced that day. Then we find out labor and delivery is full so I have to wait until the next day. That made it a little easier to prepare. Then the next day we go in for the induction and they tell me I have to take this pill every 3 hours and they go ahead and give me the 1st dose. Well I stay up and wait the 3 hours and my nurse never comes so after 5 hours I go to sleep. Well I wake up and it's 10 hours after I was supposed to take my next dose. My OB comes in to see how things are going and asks me how many pills had I taken since I've been here I told her one. So instead of checking me to see how dilated I am she starts talking about sending me home because I needed to take a certain amount for the process to work. I got really pissed off because it wasn't my fault the nurse didn't do her job. So then I had to ask her to check me to see how far along I was. Sure enough I was 3 centimeters and she said she was shocked. But either way just because she thinks it wasn't working doesn't mean she shouldn't have checked before just sending me home I shouldn't have had to ask her to do it. Then a few hours go by I'm in a ton of pain so I ask the nurse if I can go ahead and get the epidural. They send the guy in and he hooks it up and they told me there is a button I need to push to make it work and I can hit it every so often to get another dose added. Well I know that my pain tolerance is low so I was hitting it as soon as I was able to hit it again. My body ended up going numb and I wasn't able to feel my contractions so when it was time to push my nurse told me to stop hitting the button because I needed to be able to feel them. Well by the time my sons head was about to come out the epidural wore off. I was in so much pain everytime I would push I could feel myself tearing and the nurse just kept yelling at me that I needed to push harder and actually push the whole 10 seconds each time but I could only make it 5 seconds. So I told her I couldn't because I could literally feel myself tearing and she looks at me and says well have you pushed your button to get another dose. No I hadn't because you told me to stop using it. Finally I end up pushing him out though but before I can deliver my placenta my OB starts stitching me up so that made that delivery hurt too. Then as she's stitching me up she has her student intern with her and the intern asks I thought we don't let people tear like this when they say they are in pain and my OB goes we don't but she seemed to be doing fine. Then she looks at the intern and says since we did let her tear do you notice how the pieces don't quite line up that means you just have to go with the flow when stitching it back together. I was just sitting there scared as hell thinking she was messing up my lady parts and I'll never look normal down there again! Hands down this was the worse birth experience I ever had but it could've been so much easier if they would've done it differently.

Tribute

The Reality of Forgiveness
I've been contemplating a lot lately about forgiveness. We all know that hating someone is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. When we truly do forgive someone that hurt us, we feel better, like a burden has been lifted. We feel good about ourselves for taking the high road, so to speak, and give ourselves a big pat on the back for adulting and being mature. We forgive more for ourselves and our own inner peace then for the benefit of the one that hurt us.
