Success
Success; it's something most strive for, a goal in life. To some, success could be money or fame. Others might not think about success, like it is nothing to them. It is defined as, "the accomplishment of an aim or purpose".
But what really is success?
Is it something that defines a person, or is it only as simple as the definition?
Success is more than how it's defined. Success is happiness. It can be small things that are already accomplished, like having a best friend with an open friendship, where everything is comfortable to talk about, and it is normal that way. Right there is success alone, but there is so much more. Success is perseverance. It can be things that are worked for; things that are spent countless hours.
Going through life without having the "opened minded" mentality is a one way ticket to not succeeding. According to, creativelivinginc.com, "When you have an open mind you allow yourself to attract opportunities and you insist on following up on opportunities - no matter how trivial they seem. Keeping an open mind means that you are open to all possibilities." Having a mind that is shut off to open mindedness, will close a lot of doors for people.
Many opportunities will be passed up. In reality, it is hard for most people to be open minded when strong beliefs are in play. The key to success though, is overcoming that; showing that just because something hasn't necessarily been thought over, doesn't mean it isn't a possibility. Self confidence is also an important factor to success.
It comes back to motivation like, "you can do it, this is what you want, strive for it!" Without self confidence, doubt and fear comes in and withdraws the full ability to succeed for what is wanted.
According to, timemanagementninja.com, "Lack of confidence can lead to paralysis from fear. Fear of failure. Fear of what others think. Fear of the unknown. To succeed, you need the confidence to face and overcome your fears." If someone has self confidence, the goals that are trying to be achieved will be set higher, aiming for goals that will be more beneficial. "Confident people believe in success.
While growing up, I have often been told to be successful at what I do. Success is what drives human beings to achieve greatness. But what does it mean to be successful?
Many people would say that being successful is being good at a task, but success can mean something different to everybody. To me, being successful is loving what I do, staying positive even if failing at first, and feeling a sense of pride or accomplishment when finished. Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.” This quote by Herman Cain, an author and radio host, which properly explains how I view success. It is my mom that distilled in me from a very young age that being successful means to love what I do, and she has encouraged me to always do so. She has always told me that if something is not necessary and I do not enjoy it, not to do it. Even if it is just to stop reading an unenjoyable book or a future career choice.
Perseverance is the next step after Failure, and has been said to be the power key to success. Perseverance is an attitude of persisting an idea to achieve success, in spite of facing many obstructions or failures. My mom also taught me to persevere and try again if I am ever unsuccessful. When I was really young, and was learning how to do a new task like tie my shoes, my mom would not assist me after she knew that I knew the proper way to tie my shoes. She would make me sit on the floor and start to tie my shoes about half an hour before we had to leave to go somewhere. She would encourage me and not rush me until I finally got my shoes tied. It took me some time to learn and tie my shoes well, but eventually I did.
When people think of success, they think of people with money, fame, or power. But how did those people get to be in that position? What made them successful? More often than not, the stepping stones to success are forgotten once success has been achieved.
But without the little steps that make up the whole, the whole can never exist.
Writing is similar in this way; as we draft, review and edit, our smaller steps eventually make up a successful, complete paper.
Writing frequently has allowed me to slowly get better over time, and this is important on the road to becoming a successful writer. As I’ve grown over the years, I’ve used the building blocks provided to me as steps to help me excel in everything I do.
Our coach let us know how proud she was of us: no matter what happened, we were successful.
” What she said was important to us because we knew she believed in our abilities, and she knew that we were an incredible team no matter how we competed. She saw us work hard at practice every single day.
Westover was the day to show off our skills, but the training we did during the hot summer months to prepare for the season is the reason why had already come so far. Our portfolio is like this too; we write all semester long, and then we get to show off our work in a final product. Sure the writing during the semester is hard, but it all pays off when you know your final product is going to be a big Success.
One very important trait all people must have is self-control, regardless of what profession they have. In Peak Performance Ferret notes
If anger were a disease, there would be an epidemic in this country. Road Rage, spousal and child abuse, and a lack of civility are just a few examples. Emotionally mature people know how to control their thoughts and behaviors how to resolve conflict. Conflict is an inevitable art of school and work, but it can be resolved in a positive way.
