So, My Car’s AC Broke Down in Dubai’s Heat…

A small meltdown (literally) that made me slow down and rethink how I’ve been living lately.

Heya, I’m Sara.

It’s been a week since I last posted here, and I’m sorry for going quiet. Life got busy. Work deadlines, late night projects, and trying to keep up with everything life in Dubai throws at you. You know how it is when you tell yourself, “I’ll write tomorrow,” and then tomorrow becomes next week. Procrastination is my new habit.

But the good news is, I’m backkk now,

And today I want to share a little story about something that happened while I was rushing around, trying to juggle everything and how it forced me to slow down in the most unexpected way.

It was a Thursday morning. I was rushing down Sheikh Zayed Road, AC blasting, Spotify humming softly under the roar of the city. Then, without warning, my car’s air conditioning sputtered and died. The hot air replaced the cool breeze, and within minutes, the heat inside the car became suffocating.

I literally panicked man, like what the hell is this!!!

Not because of the heat, but because I realized how fragile comfort can be, how easily we take it for granted until it disappears.

When the Cool Air Disappears

I tried rolling down the windows, hoping the movement would bring some relief, but the hot wind slapped my face like a reminder: Dubai’s heat is no joke.

I found myself pulling over, sweat dripping, eyes stinging, thinking about how many people go through their day with things half-working, too busy to fix them, telling themselves they’ll get to it next week.

Except next week never comes.

The Lesson in the Heat

In that moment, I realized how much our comfort depends on tiny, ignored details: a working AC, a functioning compressor, refrigerant levels we don’t even think about.

So I called Car Service Expert, the team I had heard about but kept putting off calling because “it wasn’t urgent.” They arrived with a calm efficiency, checked my system, explained the problem, and fixed the leak that was causing the AC to fail. It took them less than an hour to restore the breeze I had taken for granted.

The ride back home was quiet, the AC humming gently, and I found myself driving more slowly, letting the cool air remind me that small comforts deserve attention, too.

Why This Matters

Dubai teaches you to move fast, always to push, but sometimes, slowing down is the real lesson.

Fixing my car’s AC wasn’t just about comfort; it was about prioritizing safety and self-care in a city that demands so much. It reminded me to heed minor warnings before they become significant problems, both in cars and in life.

Stay Cool, Literally and Figuratively

If you’re in Dubai, don’t wait until your AC breaks down in the middle of a scorching day. Get it checked, maintain it, and keep yourself and your passengers safe. The small things matter more than we think.

Sometimes, the universe uses a broken AC to remind you to slow down.

And sometimes, writing about it after months away from Vocal feels like the first cool breeze after a hot day.

Thanks for reading. Let me know in the comments below what do you want me to share next?
