Olivia

Olivia lived in big gigantic house in the beautiful countryside. It was warm and breezy most of the time but the sun made her happy when it shined upon her. Olivia was just about to turn eleven and the only thing she wanted was a pair of yellow shoes. Fancy ones with a cute little buckle on the side. She had seen them in a department story her mother took her to just yesterday. She had to have them she thought. She asked her mother for them for her birthday party. Mother thought for a long while but finally bought them for her. Olivia was so excited and could not wait to get them home. But what Olivia did not know was that these shoes had magical powers. On the long drive home Olivia imagined playing in the shoes and dancing around her room in them.

Finally home Olivia jumped out of the car and ran to show father. He thought they were just lovely and Olivia ran to her room. Wasting no time at all Olivia threw the box on her bed. one by one she put them on as fast as she could. She looked at them in the mirror and thought what a lovely pair of yellow shoes. Then she wished that she had a lovely yellow dress to match. All of a sudden as she spun around thinking of the yellow dress she looked in the mirror and saw herself wearing a beautiful dress. she could not believe her eyes. She just stood there and pondered; could these be magical? She didn't know what to think. She felt scared and happy all at the same time. Was there instructions in the box. She ran over to the box and looked inside but nothing was there.

There was only one thing to do. So she closed her eyes and made another wish. This time wishing for a lovely necklace to go with the dress.She opened her eye and there is was a yellow necklace with beautiful yellow stones. perfect for a girl her age. She could not believe her eyes. Once again she got what she wished for.

She ran and told her mother and father but they just laughed at her wild imagination. They loved her so much and found it amusing that she actually thought she had magical shoes. Her father hugged her and smiled. She knew they loved her but she didn't understand why they did not believe her.

Olivia had a lovely party and she thanked her mother and father with all the love that she could. He mother asked her about the shoes and the magic in them. Olivia got excited to talk to her mother about it. Her mother wanted to see if it was really true. She asked Olivia to make a wish and so with all her heart Olivia made a wish for her mother. Her mother had always wanted a crystal vase. So Olivia and her mother both closed their eyes and Olivia made the wish. On the table there sit the most beautiful crystal vase ever. he mother now had no choice but to believe that these shoes were very magical indeed.

Olivia made many wishes and even some for her family. But she knew that she could not keep the shoes forever. They were only magical while they were being warn. She knew her foot would grow and she would have to give them away to the next girl. A year later as her foot began to grow and just right before her twelfth birthday she had to give them away. She wanted to give these shoes to a deserving girl. She knew just the right person. She knew a girl at school who was a lovely girl that didn't have much and always appreciated things that were given to her.

Olivia brought the shoes to school one day and explained their magic to the girl. She was so grateful of Olivia and she put them on immediately. She made her wish and Olivia couldn't wait to see. But there was nothing there. Olivia could not understand. Thee girl told her that she wished that her father would get the job he wanted. Olivia knew she picked the right girl. The next day Olivia ran to school to see what happened with the girls father. The girl told her that her father got the job. Olivia and the girl were so happy. Olivia told the girl that she had one year with the shoes and that she would have the pick the next girl to receive them.

The girl thanked Olivia for the beautiful yellow shoes and they both carried on the tradition for many years and making new friends along the way.
