Legacy Letter to My Relatives
This is just one of the legacy letters I'm writing to different groups.
This legacy letter is written to my family: parents, children, grandchildren, siblings, and other relatives. Those closest to my heart are most deeply woven into my testimony.
My Beloved Family,
You are my root, branch, blossom, and seed. You are my heart. You are my why. You are the living proof that love, when planted with intention, grows tall into a legacy.
May you know that you are part of a sacred lineage, one that stretches beyond time and touches the hem of heaven. You are the living echo of those who came before and the radiant promise of those yet to come.
To my parents, now resting in God’s eternal embrace: Thank you for the soil of faith, the shelter of love, and the wisdom that still blooms in me. Your sacrifices are the silent wings beneath my flight. I often remember you and the words of wisdom you shared. I find myself quoting those exact words to my children and grandchildren. Therefore, your legacy continues.
To my children: You are my unfolding story, my answered prayers, and my joy. I see God’s fingerprints in your laughter, your courage, and your becoming.
You are the bloom—the result of my seed. You carry my spirit in your laughter, your questions, and your creativity. I see myself in you, and that's fantastic! I see pieces of myself in your eyes, and I pray that my words—whether spoken or written—will guide you long after I’m gone. You are the reason I write legacy letters. You are the reason I teach with tenderness. You are the reason I believe in generational blessings.
To my grandchildren: You are the butterflies of my legacy—colorful, curious, and free. May you inherit not just my words, but my wonder. May you rise with grace and land with purpose.

I have given you more than material things—I have given you stories, jokes, riddles, prayers, poems, and spiritual tools. I have explained to you that over time, your caterpillars will eventually become beautiful butterflies.
To my siblings: You are my first companions in life’s garden. Thank you for the shared roots, the laughter, the tears, and the sacred bond that time cannot unravel. Even during sibling rivalry, love remains deeply rooted.
To all my relatives: You are not just my descendants. You are my continuation. You are woven into the tapestry of my heart. Whether near or far, known or unknown, you are part of the blessing I leave behind.

You have seen me in every season—strong and soft, certain and searching. You’ve watched me teach, write, pray, and prepare. You’ve listened as I spoke about butterflies, about faith, about the importance of leaving things in order. And you’ve honored me by listening, by agreeing, by trusting the path I’ve laid out. That trust is a gift I do not take lightly.
I want all of you to know that although I have been misunderstood at times, I have lived with intention. I have taught with purpose. Now I am prepared with peace.
May this letter be a gentle wind that stirs your spirit. May it remind you that you are loved, prayed for, and eternally connected to something deeper than blood—something divine.
And may butterflies always find you when you need a sign. So when you see them, remember me. When you read my poems, hear my voice. When you teach others, know that you are carrying my torch.
- I love you deeply.
- I bless you fully.
- I release you joyfully.
With all my love, Margaret
