Dear Mother’s Pregnancy Journey,
You met the partner you thought , you will spend the rest of your life with.
You both decided to have children together.
A child was conceived on the first night you consummated your love.
You found out you were pregnant, you fainted.
You took your first pregnancy test.
You saw two lines, that did not seem right?

You made an appointment to see your doctor.
Your Partner went with you to your doctor’s appointment.
You pee in a cup .
You found out you were three months pregnant.
You set another appointment for your ultrasound, two months later.
Your partner and you attended the appointment .
You both were nervous, you were going to see an image of your baby for the first time.
You lie down on the bed with your belly exposed.
The doctor place a jelly substance on your belly , so he can used the tool that will see your uterus, where the baby lie.
The doctor explained and showed parts of your baby.

You finally realized you have a real human being inside you.
You received good news, the baby seem healthy.
You belly started to grow, it was exciting at first.
You started to have strong cravings on what you like to eat.
You can’t keep some of your food down.
You got dehydrated, you were hospitalized for few days with Ivy.
You start taking prenatal vitamins pills and Iron pills for your health and your baby’s health.
Seven months into your pregnancy it’s start getting uncomfortable.
You felt like a balloon ready to explode.
You wonder if the baby was ok inside your belly.
The baby give you a hard kick, ahhh!!!
The baby is ok, Thank God.
It’s hard to sleep at night, can’t sleep on your belly anymore.
You need pillow between your legs to make it comfortable to sleep.
The baby seem to be very active while you trying to sleep.
Time to find a doctor for the baby. You found a doctor that your friend recommended.
You interviewed the doctor and the doctor explained the role of a pediatrician.
The pediatrician will be at the hospital as soon as the baby is born and check the baby. That was comforting to know.
The doctor wanted you to come in for another ultrasound before you baby was born.
The ultrasound showed, your baby have a lot of hair. You where surprised caused you were expecting a bald baby. You might need a C- section.
The doctor said most pregnant woman with babies with a lot of hair could caused heartburns .
There were a lot of heartburns the past few months.
Almost getting to the ninth month mark, The cramping and back pain started to begin. The baby was busy in your tummy, during the night.(Labor pains)
I went to the bathroom early morning to pee, but this pee was different.
This pee was never ending.
Called the doctor emergency number. The doctor wanted you to go to the hospital quickly.
You got to the hospital with the bag you put together with your stuff and the baby stuff.
The hospital sent you to the Triage.
They decided you needed C- section cesarean procedure due to the baby was not in the right position to come out natural birth.
You were having the feeling of wanting to poop but you did not.
The doctor finally arrived for the operation.
They prepared you for the operation.
The room had a table with tools, T.V. Monitor and mirror above.
You could hear staff moving around .
You are not sleeping but you feel half of your body numb, Lower belly area.
The doctor requesting tools. You just felt pressure and tugging on your body.
The doctor removing organs so the doctor can get to your baby .
Someone took the baby and you started hearing the baby crying. That give you a sense of relief. You can give way to the sensation of needing to sleep.
The doctor put the organs that was taken out and put you back together.
You woke up in a recovery room. The nurse checked you out and decided you where ready to go to your hospital room. You asked about your baby.
They told you the baby was fine and you will see your baby soon.
You arrived at you hospital room, you cannot contained to see your baby.
You had a wide smile, when you saw your baby. Your baby was so beautiful with her pink cheeks and full head of hair. The baby was sleeping. You held the baby cute little hands so tenderly. You spoke to your baby for the first time. “Hello Love.”
The special staff came in to help you with your first breast feeding. You where scared and worried you won’t have milk to feed your baby.
The baby woke up and look at you and you melted. The nurse helped you and guided you to bring the baby to your breast. It took fifteen minutes and a couple of try before the baby latched on to the breast and started sucking.
Everyone was allowed to visit to come in . Everyone took turns holding the baby. There were so much excitement in the room the baby feel asleep.
The pediatrician came and check the baby again and spoke to you, if you have any questions or concerns.
The baby woke up and you breastfeed the baby like a pro. Your mother instinct started to kick in.
The baby stayed with you in the hospital for three days because you were breastfeeding.
They checked your surgery to make sure it was healing ok. The doctors asked several questions to make sure it was ok to send you home with the baby.
You changed your baby clothes and diaper for the first time while talking and singing to your baby.
Your partner and you took your baby home with excitement.
