The direct economic benefits for Americans

Nearly forty million people living in the United States speak Spanish as their native language, that is almost 15% of the population, and only about 12 million are bilingual, that is, more than half of them still do not communicate in English.

If you have a small business or a large company in the United States, having this communication skills to relate with this important number of people is very convenient, since it will make it easier for you to reach those potential customers of the products you sell or the services you provide.

As you can see, speaking Spanish would be very favorable for you because it would allow you to strengthen ties with the Hispanic population living in the United States, in addition to expanding your chances of expanding your business operations with an important market in that country, or working for a company that has business relations with about twenty countries in the Americas, and about a dozen between Asia, Africa and Europe.

For all of the above, if you are an American who has thought about studying another language, your best option is, without a doubt, to learn Spanish.

Some interesting facts

The three most spoken languages in the world are Mandarin (Chinese), Spanish and English. Of the foreigners living in the United States, the Hispanic population is undoubtedly the most densely populated, well above those from China, India and the Arab countries in general.

More than one billion people speak Chinese, there are approximately 400 million Spanish speakers, 360 million English speakers, about 220 million Arabic speakers, and just under 200 million speakers of Hindi.

The United States is the country with the second largest number of Spanish speakers after Mexico, and statistics indicate that by 2060, it will be the country with the largest number of Spanish speakers in the world, given that it is one of the countries with the highest population concentration in the continent and that receives the largest number of migrants from all over the world in search of the American dream, especially Latinos.

English is the language that is most studied as a foreign language, then Spanish is the preferred language of choice for language students, and it is precisely from the United States where the largest number of students of this language come from.

In addition to the United States, in other countries there are many learners of Spanish as a foreign language, given the growing importance of knowing how to communicate in this language, due to the multiple benefits it brings, mainly of a commercial or economic nature.

That is why, as well as the Americans, there are also many students of Spanish in England, France, Italy and Brazil, the latter, by the way, with similar characteristics to the United States, since it also has a large territory and a large population, is located on the same continent and speaks another language, in this case Portuguese. Like Americans, Brazilians are very aware of the importance of knowing how to communicate with their closest neighbors.

Spanish is the official language of most countries in the Americas, Spain in Europe, and Equatorial Guinea in Africa, and was the official language of the Philippines until 1987, along with English.

There are other countries in which Spanish is one of the most spoken languages among the population, although it is not their official language, for example, Andorra, Belize, Morocco, Angola, South Sudan, also some areas of North Africa and in a few communities of European countries including England, Italy, France, Switzerland and Germany
